Trenton here, back for some more Anima Tactics Escalation action. This time around I will be writing lists for the Church faction. I love escalating Church because there is so much synergy between their characters that, at larger games, it becomes hard for your opponents to get to any of your characters thanks to all the buffs you can layer on them. Enough chit-chat, let’s get right to it.
At 200 points I would start off with Sarah Reindhold, Lostaroth Marchosias, Maria, and Evangeline. At this low point total, Marchosias and Maria are huge hitters for their point costs. You send your two beefcakes forward to deal with your opponent while Sarah and Evangeline keep everyone healthy and buffed.
At 300 points I would take my 200 point list and drop Sarah. In her place I would add Romeo Exxet and Gemini. Romeo is a very hard hitter and will fit in nicely with your other brutes. Gemini is interesting, as he gives your team a wonderful buff while at the same time being able to go toe to toe with other fighters.
At 400 points I would add Saint Astraega and Azriel. Azriel is a solid fighter and joins your other hard hitters up front. Astraega and Evangeline form a Team together that make them some of the most potent healers in the game. At 400 the buffs and combo start to get fun but 500 and 600 points they get very interesting.
At 500 points I would add Saint Elienai and Nero. Nero brings more front line fighting to your team so you can handle the fighters your opponent brought with them. Elienai is one of my favorite leaders and support characters. She is very squishy so she should be kept well protected, but her abilities outweigh that weakness. With her buff everyone throws an additional die when they attack or dodge and take the best result. This is huge and will give you a distinct advantage. She also lets you roll your gnoisis die after you have made your die rolls, thus ensuring you only use your points when you need to.
Finally we have our 600 point team. I would add Sarah back in addition to Grey and an Agent. With Sarah back in you have the most buffing abilities you can put in the list and your castle defense becomes complete. With so many squishies, it is important to protect them, which is why Grey is here. Grey is great at protecting your troops and has an extended range to intercept attacks. The agent just goes in to fill points, but with that remaining 30 points you have a number of options to make that agent fit well into your determined strategy.
That is all I have for you this time around. As usual I look forward to your comments to this post.
