So yeah, Soda Pop switch from metal to plastic. You'd think they'd slash the prices by a hefty amount, right? Well keep on dreaming, pal! Even though the models are cast in a cheaper (in all sense of the word) material, the prices stay exactly the same! Remember what happened with GW? When they declared they change to resin 'cause it's awesomer and cheaper for them, or at least would immunize them to rising prices of tin? Well whoop-dee-doo, the figures not only became more expensive (!), the prices keep on rising just like they used to be when the models were metal! Cavalry models would jump by 100% (!) overnight!
All the companies talk about rising prices of raw materials and costs connected with casting metal miniatures, and how switching to plastic or resin will reduce the prices and keep them down... You know what? It's total bull! It's a great excuse to slash production costs and sell inferior products for same price! And everyone jumps in joy and bends over, 'cause they can now cut their models easier to kitbash them into awful "conversions". Yay.
Really, the moment metal is completely fazed out is the moment I cease buying new models and turn to E-bay full time to hunt OOP metal models I always wanted. And once it dries out, I guess that's it for me, I drop wargaming, or at least stop buying models. I'll have enough to last me a lifetime by then, though.
The models are becoming absurdly expensive for what they are (little toy soldiers), and now they feel cheaper than ever, not to mention the rampant fan service that grates on my nerves like nothing else. The current state of the biz is just sad, man... and it's only going to get worse.

The day they move to plastic is the day I stop buying Anima. I'm unhappy, to say the least, with so many companies moving to plastic or plastic-resin and foregoing metal, I can only hope Cipher does not follow suit.

So, let's recap what's on the cards for the next year or so:
Empire: - "Death Glacial" - Mukui - Kira (these three form a team) - Tadeus van Horsman
Azur: - High Arbiter Belphegor - Juliette - "Lightning Guy"
Church: - Father Alexias - The Bearer - Victor
Samael: - "Death Crimson" - Legion Ramses - Angelus
Wissenschaft: - Fate - Hecatondies Zero Sigma - Yliana - Arnold - Trithemius (someday!) - Alma (someday!)
Black Sun: - 009: Deathhead (July) - Bridget (hopefully)
Wanderers: - Anna Never (June)
We already have art for most (though not all) of these.

Ape's route is pretty much the only one worth going at the moment. You could sub Shinobi for Sophia and proxy Raziel Archetypum with Nk-X if you don't want to run him as Nk-X and buy another copy of Archetypum. Later on you could buy another Hunter and maybe Dereck?
Styx, Type-005 and Kingsley are, to put it bluntly, not very good, and neither is Arkham, to be frank. Once Lynn and Type-009 come out there will be more worthwhile units to play with, but until then the above are the only units you should bother with. Black Sun is still rather limited in terms of choice.

I have only now realized that the Commander upgrade has the designation Type-010, even though Type-10 is supposed to be Cutthroat, the predecessor of the Hunter! Either someone overlooked that or a retcon is approaching fast...

I've made one for my own use which includes models sorted by organization, their advantage cards, sculptor name and SKU. I'd post it, but it's in a txt file and uses quite a lot of tabs, so I've no idea how to post it without the forum software making a mess of it.
