Janus faith seems kinda subpar. Not sure it's worth taking him just to get a team that doesn't have that many bonuses. Plus if you're playing crit mastery, it seems like a waste not to take odin, the one person who gives you extra attacks when you crit

Why didn't Kronen just screen Daniella? It's not hard to intercept charges

he's not intercepting per se. He's using the special skill listed on the tadanosuke & kujakuhime team card to switch persons with kujaku hime though. Does that count?

About the throw, we thought that all effects from an attack were resolved at the same time so the damage + throw would occur as well. We thought it was like throwing a almost dead body through the air

at 100 levels, it won't really matter who you pair with Erika I think. Although I recommend getting a tank just because it's fun to watch your opponent when they realise 'wait, your guy has HOW much hp???'

We were confused about whether Takanosuke comes out of hiding or not since the rules state that attacks or offensive actions cause stealth to drop and his move wasn't labelled as an attack. However, it also wasn't an effect which was one of the few things that definitely wouldn't have caused stealth to drop. So we were unclear about it but in the end, I gave it to him anyway because it was a fairly small issue at the time and we were both fairly new to the game.

Yes, Raphaels gift was kinda pointless though it DID help him for Kujaku cause he failed 3/5 poison saving throws. It least helped to keep him from losing hp since he would just spend 2 AP, get 2 dmg but heal up with raphael's gift.

Was playing an newbie game against another player today. We've both played wh40k, infinity, warmachines etc but for him, it's his first time playing Anima and my 2nd time playing it. We were playing for total annihilation

Army list (mine) Empire
Imperial adv: Combat mastery
Erika
Macbeth
Odin
w/clock of cronos
Claire
w/ clock of cronos

Army list (no faction)
Jiang Pao
Kujaku hime
Takonosuke
Aoi Inugami
all with 4 raphaels gifts on each of them

1st turn
We start at opposite end of the boards, I win init but he decides to camp while waiting for me to reach him since I have NO ranged units whatsoever. I run Macbeth forward first followed by everyone, so that if needed, Macbeth can shield people with his 10 defense against ranged attacks.

2nd turn

His range attacks fail horribly although one manages to damage macbeth but not enough to hurt him seriously. He takes 3 damage which will be gone with Immortal breath next turn.

3rd turn

I win init and I fall upon him like the hammer of a very very angry paladin. Claire charges him with her special 4 AP ability, eadgil solaris. I insta-gib Jiang Pao and throw him into the nearby Kujaku hime. She dodges though. I spend the rest of my turn slowly walking within range of him. His characters all spent their turns taking potshots at Claire and kill her.

4th turn

I win init again. I charge Kujaku with a very angry Macbeth but he uses Takanosuke s ability to switch them. My charge fails since Takanosuke is still hidden even after using that ability and Macbeth is left standing around. Units slowly move into position while his units spend their turn taking shots at Macbeth, managing to knock him down to 14hp.

5th turn

Takanosuke is charged by Odin and dies a quick death with me having rolled 3 criticals in a row. Macbeth finally pins Kujaku down but fails to hit her while Erika is finally in place. She performs SPIN! SPIN! SPIN! and manages to roll a critical on them. Unfortunately for my opponent, both his units are within 2 inches of mine and both are hit by the attack which also causes them to be thrown. They die immediately.

Well, managed to play my game. Won quite decisively but mostly because opponent fielded a sub-parish team. However, was quite happy with critical mastery. Managed to get Odin 3 attacks in a row and helped me hit several times when the opponents dodge+defense total was greater than my total attack. Sweetest part was when Erika won the game by doing SPIN! SPIN! SPIN! and rolled a critical, hitting both his remaining characters and causing throw, which also ended up killing them.

Afaik, her 2" reach doesn't count when charging correct? Also, if she chooses to attack someone from 2" away, she's not considered engaged in combat with that person if that person wishes to move away from her, hence no escape roll?

Okay, think I'll replace Lilian with Claire as suggested. Was only planning on taking her for the healing but it seems like it may not be as impt in a 200 point game. It seems like for Claire, the only thing I should be doing is to run on 1st turn, hope I get into range and charge on the 2nd turn, hoping to throw one of their units to death.

currently me and my friend are starting out so we're trying to field a 200 team army just to get a hang of the ropes first. Once we're more familiar, we'll add more but at the moment with 200 points, we can't have any leaders so this is the list I came up with. Claire is intr for the critical-no-armr ability as well, but it seems like griever as a leader choice is really really horrible.

I would love to add samiel since he seems pretty cool but at 200 points, I really had to squeeze what was necessary inside to fit the theme and I could have samiel but it just seemed like macbeth and lilian made a better choice for the heals + support

Thinking of a 200 point team for the empire that tries to take advantage of their improved critical mastery organisation advantage as much as possible. It would consist of 4 units

1. Odin Goldsmith for his extra attks upon critting
2. Erika for her critical ability as well
3. Macbeth for tanking
4. Lilian to synergise with Macbeth.

For a 300 point game, I'm thinking of adding Lilith as a leader since her abilities seem more useful than Yuri or Grievers or even Tiamats. Any opinions/suggestions?
