886  Anima - Tactics / Neutral Faction / Re: Derecks Haste on: April 19, 2007, 03:29:51 AM
I see haste mainly as a way (combined with the cronos advantage card) to insure you'll start the next turn with 5 actions which is enough to use your most powerful move: neo genesis
which boost you to 10 attack/9 damage. devestating  Grin Of course, you have to figure out how to end up in cc without using an action. This is why latter on when you get the advantage card to boost your level of haste you can use one turn to activate haste, next charge your oppenet, then use neo genesis  Grin

Hmm... Perhaps I understood wrong but I think you donīt get how haste works. Increasing the haste level thanks to the neokinesis magnus advantage card only means to increase the number of haste counters you put in the mini therefore you are increasing the number of turns haste is going to last. But in no way you are increasing the number of actions you will recover next turn. You always recover +1 action point only due to haste.

There is no way you can charge Dereck and make neogenesis work in the same turn. Neogenesis is only going to work if you start the turn engaged in melee already.

oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
A GEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(where do you hear of this?

and does this means that it is going to be a long while before I can field an 8 person Wissenchaft force   Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Anima Studio words. It is for sure  Cheesy

I donīt know about the 8 person force but I bet a gear is gonna be pricy. On the other hand, I donīt think you need 8 characters for a 300 pts force. But yes, unfortunately I suppose it is going to take some time to have enough specific faction minis. First of all we are still in Saga I.

1) I think all guns in anima are called black powder weapons by default. Remmeber, some in anima may have more adavance guns but most people won't understand what a gun is so they just called them from what rummor says. And I'm sure guns are just a rumored lost tech (or logia whatever the word is).

The range weapon technology in Anima itīs the same like in any other fantasy worlds, but the ambientation feeling is more like Reinassance and so black powder pistols, muskets and cannons are the maximun expression of power. But this applies in a general context. There are other lurking powers with a higher technology. As I have said Lucrecio is the most prosperous land and they have recently researched and designed Zeppelins. But Lucanorīs secret tech level is higher thanks to Wissenchaft. They have Lost Logia they find but also they design their own weapons. Needless to say Wissenchaft has powerful machine guns and grenades as well as some more high-tech/mistical goodies.

2) oh, he didn't give up his throne but somehow is not the heir anymore? Come on, fantay filight moved the due date of the english book back to august and I don't want to wait that long. Feel free to write a page if you have to but please explain it.

oh and I love high tech/mystical oragnization so picking Wissenchaft was a easy choice  Cool

Err... I am too lazy to write a full page  Grin . To sum up fast: The founder of the Sacrum Saint Imperium of Abel was a man called Zhorne Giovanni who unified mankind in Gaia and supported the Church. For centuries his descendants ruled the Imperium wisely, until it came Lascar Giovanni's turn. He was a mad man and a poor ruler (he was used to encite wars, take every woman he liked, and even he made his wife to commit suicide). One of the Warlords (a High general of the Imperium) named Elias Barbados, an a political cousin from the same emperor; promoted a "coup d'etat" agaisnt him in order to capture him and restore the situation. Even Church, and Tol Rauko turned their back to the emperor. So being defeated and didnīt want to be taken as a prisioner (Elias didnīt want to kill the emperor, as the emperor is the first representation of God in Gaia and then the church.). Lascar made his son to kill him against the son will. That seven years boy was Lucanor Giovanni and having killed the emperor (even agaisnt his will))was not a worthy heir to hte Throne anymore (I suppose something to be with the Sacrum Saint Imperium conception). So the next one in the Throne list was Elias, and he became the new Emperor and the Giovanniīs lost the throne for the first time in centuires. With Lucanor being not worthy to the trhone, Elias made him the prince of one of the most important lands in the Imperium: Lucrecio. The actual Empress: Elisabetta, is only a 12 years old girl and is Elias daughter. The fact of a woman occupying the Throne is bad seen by some lands, some Warlords and even the Church, and is the cause of the actual crisis that suffers the Imperium. And here is where Anima Tactics action starts.  Wink

Anyway, Anima fluff is far more larger and more interesting than what I have told you  Wink This is only a piece of the story.

can you give some hints at what is to come for them. I know celia is going to have lv2 haste  Cheesy

At least two more characters (probably both for Saga II, one for sure but I donīt know if there is still some Wissenchaft love left in Saga I). One of these characters is something special. You see, with Saga II Anima Tactics is going to introduce to the game Beasts and invocations as well as center the game in factions. There are confirmed two beasts: an Hecatondis (a teen feet metal golem with own mind, a remain/magic weapon of an a centuries ago extinted powerful human kingdom) and an Slaughterer (an undead golem, gorilla like shape, with killer instincts. Probably Dark alineation, Black Sun faction). Well, the fact is that Wissenchaft have a more high techie aproximation to beasts  Grin  That is, one of the characters is going to pilot a Wissenchaft Gear. For gears think about Shirowīs landmates with a little bit of steampunk feel.  Cool And it is not the only gear character planned...

then extra action that haste gives is not much but it is enough to pay the upkeep for the seals of the dragon which would be quite usefull since this guy is already unbelivably powerfull. and celia seren is getting lv 2 haste, WHAT  Roll Eyes. wow, that must be part of the power the Wissenschaft can give you. makes me wonder what Alessa Raincross (the other wissenchaft that we know of) will get. well, besides her guns  Cheesy

I donīt think Celíaīs Haste 2 power is consequence of Wissenchaft's power. In my opinion it must be due to a Selene technique. Remenber she is an ex-Selene member. (Selene is both an all female assassinīs organization as well as the martial art that Selene members practice)
890  Anima - Tactics / News / Re: Five New Characters Releasing in March! on: April 18, 2007, 06:40:22 AM
and I can't wait for Alessa Raincross (3rd wave) she got black power guns!! yes! plus shes part of way favorite faction: Wissenschaft, all hail whats his name(there leader) I can't wait to have him as a mini. I've seen his concept art and just wow Smiley

Black powder guns? Knowing about the Wissenchaft's tech level... Roll Eyes you can bet her guns are more advanced than black powder weapons. Good for you if youīve choosen Wissenchaft as your faction. Itīs my favourite too and I can tell you there are some goodies coming in the future.  Cheesy

oh yeah, his names giovoni Lucanor the prince that gave up his kingdom to start Wissenschaft

He didnīt give up his kingdom. He is the prince of Lucrecio, the most prosperous land inside the Sacrum Saint Imperium of Abel. (The Imperium faction in Anima Tactics). And Wissenchaft is his secret organization.
But he is Lucanor Giovanni, the last descendant from the Giovanni's and therefore a legitimate heir to the Throne of the Sacrum Saint Imperium (in my opinion, but the fact is he is not it anymore, long story to tell here though)
891  Anima - Tactics / News / Re: Wave 3 - Second Concept : Wissenschaft gunner on: April 18, 2007, 05:59:48 AM
He, he, he . . . . .

Hypnotic, like Pendulums!

Cheesy

Hypnotic I donīt know, but this girl probably must have psichic powers as she is a Wissenchaft Raven  Cheesy  Cool
892  Anima - Tactics / News / Re: Wave one minis on: April 18, 2007, 05:54:35 AM
Hmm...A hard choice between Ayl and Harod. In the end I choose the assassin for his cool anime ninja look. But Ayl is superb too. For me the best two minis from wave one.

Dear Kurogane, did you realise that this post dates from January?  Grin

BTW...that looks like hajimemashite. or KOnichiwa. Trying to read the kanji.

It says "Konbanwa" what means: Good evening. If he wanted it could be written with kanji 今晩は(the last caracter is hiragana though)
It is written in hiragana one of the three writting sistems that the japanese use. In fact they use they use both hiragana and kanji at once to write everyday sentences and they use katakana for foreign words or foreign derived japanese words which are derived from english: words like テレビ (terebi what is the abreviation of television (TV) )or チョコレット or チョコ (chokoretto or choko what means chocolate). Both are words that come from english.

By the way: Angelic_Diffusionは日本人ですか。3級の日本語能力試験を勉強して行くだから日本語で答えてもいいです。分かれりましょう  ^__^

@Janzerker

Talking about Duncan and the current Anima miniature range...

Iīm gonna be more serious:

I my opinion the game sistem is nice and the fluff about Anima universe is really good (believe me, it is very, very interesting Wink), but the overall miniature range is just fair. Which is not good given the current fantasy games market situation. In the fantasy skirmish range, Rackham's Confrontation leads the way and now another french company is going to launch Helldorado, which brings to the scene some really astoundishing miniatures. If Anima Tactics must compete with these games then it lacks some good sculptors. In my opinion more funds must be invested in contracting some reknown freelance sculptors (for example Werner Locke and Edgar Ramos). Also, donīt let miniatures like Duncan be launched to the market. If I were you I would have sent the miniature for reesculpt, you are in your right. Duncan is not only bad scaled but it shows a basic level of sculpt which is not enough for the quality the market demands nowadays. I can foresee that this miniature is going to be poorly sold.

Sorry if I've been a little rough but someone had to say it.

Cheers
