By this logic, XII is a bad leader because all he can do is be a beatstick.......

If I could improve him I would give him an AoE attack so even when swarmed he would be dangerous.

If I could improve XII, I'd give him an AoE attack as well. lol

Most characters are not going to get AoE attacks though nor do they need them to justify their use.

So in summary his advantages are:
1. 9/9 attack
2. Can use Supernatural Devourer.
3. Can be buffed.

So we have a pure beatstick leader who can do only one thing: kick one target. And he is not THAT good in this compared to others.

Err, hes by far the best beat stick Samael has. And how can you say hes not that good compared to others? Compared to who? Certainly no one in Samael? How many Leaders do you know can smash XII rather consistently in melee?

If players are ignoring Ophiel's ranged attack, its a mistake. Its 2 AP. Its not costing you much AP at all so theres no need to save AP. Not to mention, while blind has a low effect, its crippling to a lot of characters that rely on high accuracy in order to deal damage.
4  Anima - Tactics / News / Re: Preview seen on FB: Mihail on: April 30, 2013, 10:35:04 AM
2 9/9 attacks if he began his turn engaged with full AP. He can use ooooo attack the same way hitting opponent with 11r/11 attack which is around 18/11 and kills a Lilith if she is not dodging. But comparing full AP Ophiel with AP-less leaders is not fair. Smart opponent will always dodge Ophiel.

Not to mention, Ophiel shines when yelled at by Adler.

Actually, I'd prefer the 2 9/9 attacks over the 11/11 attack. Assuming the enemy is dodging, the 2 possible 9/9 attacks can do more damage. And I always expect my opponents to be able to dodge.

And Adler can make that 2 12/9 attacks. Heck, even just Sophia makes it 11/9. Very scary. Not to mention if both attacks hit you'll have 1 ap left over for dodging, supernatural devour is amazing.

All of which undermines any argument that Ophiel is weak.

Ophiel weak? With supernatural devour he can use two 9/9 attacks. That means Ophiel can beat most leaders in the game 1v1. How is that weak? If anything, Ophiel is one of the most powerful leaders in the game.

Another wanderer leader, I wonder if some members here head will exploded.
No, it is not very surprising after Saga 3. Empire already have their arbiter-like Lilith.

Being an Arbiter isn't what I mean.  I'm talking about the resistance to a "wanderer" being a leader.  Pre Kagemaru many riled against the idea of a wanderer being a leader despite there being examples in history of leaders rising up and leading people that don't belong or part of another organization.  Even Kagemaru was only begrudgingly accepted due to his special fluff.

-ape2020

Thats not the reason people didn't like the idea of a wanderer leader. We were worried that such leaders would replace the Oganization Leaders in usefulness/power. Kagemaru has been accepted not because of his fluff but because he doesn't in anyway replace the Organization Leaders in power or usefulness. In fact, Kagemaru is quite lackluster as a leader whos only worth using if you want a ninja filled team (which is far from the most effective team you can make).

As long as a wanderer leader isn't as powerful as say Lilith, who is the clearly superior choice among Empire Leaders then we don't have a problem with wanderer leaders. The potential problem we worry about is a situation were say no one takes Yuri as an empire leader anymore because for a similar cost a wanderer leader is the clearly superior option.

I still somewhat find it silly that secret organzations like Samael or Wissenschaft can be led by a wanderer but its a very minor annoyance compared to the fear that wanderer leaders will prove so good they effectively replace an organzation's own leaders.

If the last wanderer leader is any indication, they won't be replacing the Organzation Leaders with their leader abilities so I'll take him.

Awww, what happened Razhem? No time to play the game anymore or you still going to play with Azur?

That team card sounds like its just what the type 005's need to be somewhat worth taking.

Ok ok, soon will be up some information. The organization winner was Church. The second Empire.
42 players.

Could you tell has what characters the top 3 teams were made up of?

Its nice to see that the Dinah Domination has finally been broken.

Except Romeo is the last person a Wiss player wants to charge given his toughness, wounding Romeo just gives him Miracle tokens.
12  Anima - Tactics / Neutral Faction / Re: Mk. Trithemius - "You called for backup?" on: February 21, 2013, 10:59:41 AM
Even with 2 AP he is still quite powerful even in melee though the AP Regen upgrade becomes more important.
13  Anima - Tactics / Neutral Faction / Re: Mk. Trithemius - "You called for backup?" on: February 21, 2013, 01:45:22 AM
So apparently Saga 3 is named "Rise of the Gears". Seriously, forget the Type 005 since thats a sad pathetic joke. The Trithemius is on par with the Hunter as ridiculously effective in melee for its cost. Yes, you read that right, IN MELEE.

For 40 points you can take:
+1 Attack
+2 Damage
the Flight Innate Ability and its Speed is increased to 8/12

Of course, any list with multiple gears will have the wonderful Fate and she gives a passive buff to the Trithemius of +1 attack. I had assume that give the small buff it wouldn't be a big deal however..............

I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG! The attack buff as almost as ridiculous as the one Grim receives. The final BASE stats you get for a mere 40 points with Fate in your team (and keep in mind you can take 2 at 300 points):

Att: 6
Dam: 7
8/12 + Flight

Yeah, your reading that right. Those are leader level Base stats on a measly 40 pointer. On a charge you are at Att 8 Dam 7, thats on par with the Hunter with a +2 att buff from a support character except that the Trithemius requires no Att buff except for the passive from Fate. In melee, with 4 AP, the Trithemius can dish out 2 6/7 attacks. Even leaders have to fear this level of basic attack. If you have 2 Trithemius gang up on a single character with 4 ap each (which with flying 12" charges might not be that hard to set up) then their poor target is in for four 6/7 attacks every other turn. Not many characters can withstand that.

Canyon Legate is an amusing mini Exodia Cannon. At 4 AP, with the stats above, you'll get an 7/8 ranged attack which becomes a 10/7 ranged attack with Fate's Markerlight. This all adds up to some absurd amounts of firepower for only 40 points.

To top it all off, Trithemius is surprisingly tough for is costs. ARM 4 and 18 LP is something that the poor Type 005 wishes it had. At the very least, the Trithemius shouldn't be one shotted except vs the most excessive Att buff stacking teams. While Fate can heal them she is in most cases better off healing a more valuable gear.

Just of the top of my head I came up with this 300 points pure Gear team with 6 models:

The Gear Project (saving you a whopping 30 points):
Hecatondies Zero Sigma
Grimorium Verum (Frederick Mausser)
Theurgia  (Elfriede Adler)
2x Trithemius w/ the above set up
Fate (of course, duh Tongue)

BEHOLD, the mad genius of Reist Ebersbacher's Gear Project!

"The enemy's control area is reduced to half when trying to locate hidden models and to stop a model from going hidden."

That answers your question. CZ is reduced whenever seeking an enemy or the enemy attempts to go hidden.
15  Anima - Tactics / News / Re: New Org advantages on: February 13, 2013, 01:21:25 PM
So for Wiss, does this mean Project Gear now makes gears 10 lvls cheaper?

I wish, the Spanish rulebook had Manipulation. Which means for the rest of us shall get manipulation in the second rulebook.

Manipulation: You get an extra wanderer slot and each wanderer slot costs -10.

Note: A team card makes the members count as one wanderer slot.
