Anima - Tactics / Dark Faction / Re: a sleight advantage?

The biggest advantage that I saw right off the bat is that both of the characters in the Dark starter have a ranged attack while neither of the characters in the Light starter do.

I don't want to post the pic of another game company here, but here is a link to a photo that will show you all 3 base sizes in comparison to one another.

Another USA resident here, from Kansas. I'm an old school gamer from way back, I've played a little bit of just about everything. Lately my wife and I have been getting together with some of our married friends and playing various semi-gamer board games, mostly stuff from Avalon Hill, nothing too German. I'm looking forward into getting into Anima with my two brothers and getting some real hardcore gaming in. We might even pick up the RPG as well.

Anima - Tactics / Game Rules / Base Size?
|
on: December 14, 2006, 10:28:01 AM

Can somebody tell me what sort of bases the minis are on? The pictures on the website look to me like the small 30mm bases from games like Dark Ages and WARMACHINE. But my brother described the ones from his starter like the 25mm round bases from GW.
I was trying to plan out how I would base my minis once I get them so I need to know what I'm working with.

Anima - Official website / www.animarpg.com - Official Anima website / Re: About the sites navigation

I like the site. It is very easy to navigate and find what I'm looking for. And it runs smooth and fast on my machine, granted I do run my resolution a bit smaller than Nudel. I know what you mean about tabbed browsing Nudel as I tend to do that a lot as well, but there isn't really all that much stuff on the site yet so I havn't found it to be a problem right now.

Sorry Malckuss, I misunderstood what you were going for. Fujizaka got it right though. The "light source" painting is really big on the WARMACHINE threads right now, I have a buddy that can do it but I have not really messed with it. I'll have to con him into painting my bird for me it looks like.

I think there is even an advertisement for such a thing in the rulebook that comes in the starters. Either on the back or inside the back cover.

Anima - Tactics / Light Faction / Re: My figs made more than 9000 km to come to me ...

All characters have associated always the same Advantage card; I mean, when you buy a mini, there is no “random” choice. You will get always the correspondent card.
Sort of off topic, but will there be other ways to get the Advantage card that comes in a blister without buying the figure? There is no way I would buy a figure I can't use just to get the card that comes with it, but that wouldn't stop me from wanting it.

I wish I could help you man, but I can't think of any way to make a solid piece of metal look like something translucent. The only thing that even comes to mind is to fake it by painting what is behind the bird onto the bird and then covering that with a thin glaze, but even that would only look good from one angle and it's way beyond my ability.
