Are there any in the game? And not just passive ones that increase your defense.  I mean things that are in seen in anime (such as the ninjas in naruto teleporting right before an attack hits) or Exalted-style perfect defenses.?

I'm not really sure about Exalted-style perfect defences since I really don't know them, but defensive special tech have a long variety of stiles and abilities; from teleporting moves, energy shields able to cover even a little city, damage redirection...

Yeah, that sounds like Exalted's Martial Arts.  The more I hear about this game, the more I like it.

OMFG.  That is totally amazing.  That sounds like this game is everything i was hoping for.  This might possible be the Holy Grail of RPGS (at least for me)

You should also take note that Ki powers (as magic an psi, by the way) are not visually defined in any way, just in mechanics: for example, a long-range attack could be anything from throwing your weapon, a kamehame, making the land explode...

there are lots of defensive bonus, apart from just increasing your skill: create a energy shield or becoming an accumulation creature (meaning you just absorb the hits instead of dodging, like a dragon would do) are other options. Or you could make yourself invisible, or intangible, or teleport far away Tongue

I like that alot...sounds really cool. But could you build a Ki-Tech that assisted with or transposed with Counter-attacks and such? The whole swordsman surrounded by 16 enemies, and parries and kills them as they rush him, kinda thing?

Yeah, there is no limitation at using a ki technique in an attack granted by a counter. Although doing 16 attacks with a counter is difficult and costs a lot, as you can“t use an special effect of Area Attack when defending... you'll have to wait till your turn to kill them all xD

Grin Ok, I guess I could wait that long...what about doing things like "teleport" via shadows, or being able to climb walls like a spider, or flying or other, non-combat oriented stuff?

Not only Technicist has those Ki skills; they are simply the ones who develops them easier.

In one of the RPGs I play, I developed a character class that uses Agressive magic and Ki at the same time.

Is it possible to make that kind of character in this game?

Sure; the best for that is the warlock, but almost all archetypes can do it too.
You only need to use your DP for that.

What about the Untyped Class? Could they make good Ki users?
