After getting a great response from another member on army building, I thought I would get some more clarification.

If I understand the game correctly, the different characters fit into various roles, similiar to MMORPGS ... Tank, Melee DPS, Ranged DPS, and Healer/buffer.  Am I correct in my understanding of this?

And, if so, team building should take this into account.  In other words, when I build a build a team, I should build it akin to building a PvP team to some extent.  Correct?

It can yes, and it usually makes for good teams when played that way. But think of it more as a PvP setting in a MMO, it doesn't favor squishies. When you have squishies in your team, you've got to have a "tank" to intercept/shield for them and take the aggro or else they die quickly. But you can go without tanks and squishies alltogether and be effective with an all stealth or all DPS team.

Just build around a strategy of how you want to beat your opponent and then look for weak points to shore up.

I also build my teams in a similar fashion to building parties in Final Fantasy XI.  However, I may occasionally build a "burn party" which is just high damage with only a small amount of support.
