Well, Privateer Press releases decks of cards for their various Warmachine factions (as well as for Hordes). They released decks for the mark one rules for both games, and then when they rewrote the rules to mark 2, they released updated decks, with multiple copies of all the units in a faction, with the new stats, abilities, costs etc.
This doesn't directly correlate to the issue of advantage cards other then a "deck" of diversified cards can be produced in a cost effective way. These Privateer press decks probably have roughly 80 cards each, or more and retail for 18.99 (I work in a games shop...and the new Hordes decks just came out, so I've seen their price a lot as of late >_>).
Anyways, I Would easily buy a set of advantage cards that had 2-3 of each non-team card and would probably be willing to pay around 30$, depending on what's actually in it. The reason being that there's plenty of advantage cards out there that I would A) like to have, but can't afford the figure for just the card, or B) would like to have another one (or two) of, but don't want to buy the _same_ figure 2 or 3 times (for example supernatural weapon, or clock of chronos...both i could easily slip into a team more then once). I could easily convince the store i work at to stock 2 or 3 decks, too...which doesn't sound like a lot, but for a non-chain local store, you have to pick and choose carefully. XD

Usagi has it spot on.

At my store we are just starting to get into Anima Tactics.  Up till now, WH40k has been king of the hill so to speak but AT has some serious advantages over that game that effectivly sell the it for me!  One of those is the character and advantage cards.  With all my table top players being acustomed to having to shell out $90 for a "core" rulebook AND an army book before they could even figure out what they were doing, AT's starter sets and cards have been been a major draw.  That being said, the current availability of advantage cards has raised many questions as to both the quality of the game as well as it's potential longevity.

What I personaly would like to be able to stock would be "Faction" decks.  There are currently 96 models listed on the AT webpage between Dark, Light, and Nuetral.  Add the advantage cards to the mix and you have a set of products that could easily retail for $15-20 USD each.  And since most all organizations include all 3 factions, there would be a "need" to purchess all three decks.  A sales gimmick to be sure but an effective one.

But Privateer only releases Faction decks for models that have been re-done. AT has yet gone through a revision, so a faction deck would be unnecessary to say the least.

Conversely, if they released game aids like life point counters or state counters (More permanent ones as oppose to the ones from the starters) I would instantly buy those.

Of course, I'd love a Saga I & II advantage deck. If they gave me three versions of all advantages from that saga and sold it for 20 bucks, I'd be down.

I'm not sure if that's true...about the Warmachine decks. They had decks for "mark one" that were the entire set of cards for whatever faction. The released second decks when Mk. 2 came out (they actually gave stores a long card box with tons of mark 2 cards to give to people buying models on the shelves that had old cards in them as well).
I just believe that decks of advantage cards, alone, is a viable product. Decks with character stat cards is probably slightly less viable, as you rarely have need for character cards you don't have the figures for. But a deck of advantages would make me go "whee!" as i wouldn't have to buy 3 of the same figure to get "legal" (as opposed to proxy) advantage cards.

UNLESS IT'S A PART OF CIPHER'S DASTARDLY EVIL BUSINESS PLAN!!!!

lol I mean, we still have sets of cards we can buy on the online store.... They're just bloody expensive. 2 dollars for a card is not a fair exchange IMO when for 19 bucks we get like 50 cards from PP.
