Hello all, I need some advice here if you wouldn't mind.

I now have enough models to play in a big enough game to use leaders, but I cant decide which one I want to get first.
I know Yuri is the cheapest leader at 55,and is also pretty fast at 8/12,and his once a game abilities are game winning depending on when they are used.as well as initiative.
But Greiver has that destructive power about him that makes beatstick fans drool(Mmmmm End of the world.).Also defensive stance is nice as well.

I am leaning towards Greiver but I am not sure, Heres my current list of models if one is more compatible to my line up than the other.

Daniella
Vayle
Janus
Samiel
Kronnen
Claire

Thanks in advanced, Kloppy.

With Greiver you got a 300 point team:

Greiver
Samiel
Claire
Daniella
Janus
Vayle

Greiver and Yuri's combat potential is quite close considering the 15 point difference. The big deference for Greiver is his Defensive Stance + Indomitable + his innate toughness which gives him similar toughness as The Legacy of Solomon which makes him possibly the ultimate tank.

From a pure power gamer stance, Yuri hands down. Ultimately pick which one you like more though. Griever is IMO the worst leader in the game.

Worst then Grimorium Verum taken as a leader? I think not. And for 1 reason that consist of 3 words. Legacy of Solomon.

Yuri is a definitely a great toolbox with able combat and defensive potential, and he acts as a great bodyguard for Lilian when you take Weapons of Azrael, because you can stay mid-field and bark King's Tower or his Leader Abilities while Lilian spread heals.

However, Griever is not the worst Leader; Lv. 80 Grimorium easily sweeps that position. Griever is on the lower end of the Leaders, that is true, but he is in my opinion the best tank in the game, the only rival worth considering being the Legacy itself; from my experience, Griever tends to fare better against being tag-teamed than Legacy. As Hiro said, Defensive Stance + Indomitable + 3 Armor + 20 Health = WHY WON'T YOU DIE!?!? Griever also sports very nice offensive abilities: Scar of the World is a 6/10 with Innate Gnosis and Critical Mastery, so it has a good chance of dealing Damage, Dodge or not. End of the World, despite its cost, is one of the best AP-draining Attacks in the game as well as one the most damaging Attacks in the game; if you hit the opponent for base Damage each time - having a bad roll streak - that's already 24 Damage against no Armor. Ouch! I think it is better than Ophiel's Godless World; it has the potential to deal more Damage, drain more AP, or do both at the same time.

And as Hiro said, Griever makes a nice, even 200 Levels with the Cerberus Division. I still think Yuri is better, mainly for his utility, cheap price, and good durability, but Griever is by no means a bad Leader. I would say he is on par for efficacy with Ophiel, who many also consider to be a so-so Leader.

Yeah I have been leaning more toward Yuri, I think Him added with Imperial armor advantage would work pretty well. I may wait till I get Odin to use Greiver and pair them up with combat mastery and go on from there.

I actually would rate Ophiel quite a bit better than Griever thanks to a powerful but cheap range attack + a powerful 9/9 3ap attack.

Griever is overcosted for what he does, coming from an Empire player's PoV.

Can he tank? Heck Yes. He probably would be the best tank in the game, tied with only with Legacy. Defensive Stance might be simply named, but it is brutally effective. His attacks are fairly good and indomitable is a nifty trick.

However, his fault lies in the fact that he costs 70 levels. 60 or 65? I can easily see that. However, 70 is a lot for a character. He doesn't have quite the same utility as either Dinah or Ophiel, and the five level difference between him and Romeo is staggering. For what he does, he does it very well, but it's not worth 70 points.

I mean, he might be the Super Heavy Tank in a faction full of regular Tanks, but why get a SUPER TANK!!!! when you could go for a tool box leader like Yuri, who's only 55 levels?

And 10 Resistance might be high for Empire, but even still it's sub par compared to the other leaders, and that'll open him up to an array of bad things.

Personally, I love the Knight of 7th Heaven, I just wish he was boasted up a little bit more to be on power level or have his cost reduced a bit.

In terms of Leaders, he's among the low tier, but he's still brutal in what he does. He is a monster in combat, there's not doubt about that.

Why would you use anything but Combat Mastery if you're putting in Odin?

Take Yuri, hands down.

Huh Ophiel's +3/+3 is a melee attack, his only ranged attack is a 6/6 that reaches 30 and can cause blind. Did you have a brain fart or is there a way to get a 9/9 attack with ophiel at range?
