Alrighty, so I'd like to build myself a Black Sun team as the headline says. The thing is, with such a limited selection at this point i'd like to get some advise before I just start buying figures.

I really enjoy the idea of these guys being the foil (like the Azur Alliance) to my Wissenschaft team. As I'm nearing completion of that project (just knife girl and sword-sticks left to paint, plus Legacy whoever that finally comes out) I'd like to do a smaller project between them and my Azur Alliance team.

So I'm thinking brightly colored bad-guys to face off against my dark-clad wanna-be Illuminatti. Smiley

But what to get? The Starter seems logical, as does a noter type 005. I've seen Arkham is realized, as is some huge mutant guy thatnis hideously expensive and I'm not super excited about model wise.

So if I were to pick up what's available i'd have Arkham and Promethia, along with Styx and two Type 005s. Is that worthwhile? Do I need to get that big expensive guy?

That "big expensive guy" is the Raziel Archetypum and is meant to be Black Sun's main battlehorse.

Promethea, Styx, 2 Type 005 and Arkham fill about 150 pts. Despite they are five miniatures they'd be a very difficult party to play with. Simply put: the list lacks muscle, which Raziels give. Currently you have no other option than to field the Raziel. Or you could wait for Clover, Kingsley Warlock and Raziel NK-X to be released.

Has anyone bought it yet? If it's the size of Grimorium (or any of the gears) I can accommodate the price tag. If it's Alastor sized though... Well let's say I'll end up frustrated.

These figures are all Saga III right? I'd love to be able to see what they do before I buy. Is that book due soon?

Raziel archetypum is Ligori`s size. The incoming Raziel NK-X is Grimorium size.

Trust me man: you WANT raziels archetypum (I play with him and he is, as spanish folk say, "una mala bestia", it means, "a bad beast". Bad for the enemy of course).

From a game point of view I get it. From a pricing point of view I don't know if I can wrap my head around paying thirty bucks for a slightly larger than man sized model. To be fair that's the same reason I never bought Ligori. I've got no problem with 11 bucks for a nice character fig (average Anima MSRP)... But thirty pushes my gears a bit unless its significantly bigger.

I'm going to end up buying it if it makes the team... But it will chap. Cheesy

You could go the Free Agent round and pick up Dereck and Faust and one more Type-005 to make up the difference.

That is true... I already own all the wanderers except the old man.

Thematically I like sticking to a factions models... But with Umbrella *ahem* Black Sun I suppose it fits to use 'pawns' . Smiley

I think I may do that to start. Good idea ape, I'd forgotten their other Org advantage.

The Raziel Archetypum is about the size of Odin Goldsmith, maybe a touch shorter. He's notably shorter than Goethia, Konosuke or Macbeth. I haven't seen Ligori up close but I would strongly suspect that Raziel is not as bulky. He probably is about the size of Alastor.

He is a very nice model, but in terms of the amount of metal for your money I would say he is cmfortably the worst value in the Anima range, and this is a range of models that is not easy on your wallet.

That said, as with all Anima models you will only need one or two ever and he represents a considerable asset to a Black Sun force, so I would recommend you just suck it up and pay on this particular ocassion (Be thankful your paying US prices, in the UK we pay about £25 for Raziel, check out the exchange rates and find out just how much of a premium we pay for being on the wrong side of the Atlantic).

Looking at a comparison screen-shot, Raziel is slightly taller then Odin but slightly shorter then Ligori. Its body is not as thick as either of them, but has an impressive detail.

That said, keep in mind that the Raziel Arcetypum comes with "optional" bits like Agents do. An alternate right arm and a alternate head.

It honestly isn't that bad for a model its size, and if price is really a worry, get it at FRP games, they have it for $24 instead of $30.

CCG Armory also offers a great price on Anima models, 30% off is standard. Raziel is currently selling for $20.95.
