I just went through hell trying to kill the Church's most cheerful character.  I was playing Samael versus my roommate who was playing Church.  He gave me clear shots at Astraega so I took them until she died....but then Elienai brought her back.  Evangeline healed her...Grrrrrrr!!!!!

Then, throughout the game Astraega was kept safe through a series of Mirror Jumps by Luzbell.  It eventually came down to Astraega being the last model on his team.  Seriously, she outlived Evangeline, Elienai, Luzbell, Nero and Alis (not counting the whole part where she died in the first turn).  Then, as if that wasn't enough, she casts The World on herself to live another turn.  She then charged my Dinah and dealt 6 damage to her.  Janiel then stepped up to her and finally put her to rest with a Feather Slash.

So, Astraega was both the first and last character to die in the game.

Other highlights include me being unable to use Konosuke for half of the game due to being possessed.  Fortunately, Elienai died to the 5 damage from being expulsed.  My personal highlight was the use of Dinah's reality fold to drop her, Janiel, and Cheshire in base to base with Evangeline and Aoi came along for the ride to block Dinah from the rest of the opponent's army.  Konosuke also gets kudos for leaving Luzbell with only one LP after a charge that he finished with the Thousand Broken Bones follow-up.

Huh, and here I was suspecting The World being thrown around like a beach ball at a hipster concert.

Still, reality fold and dropping everything on an opponent's support line is HILARIOUS!

The reality fold thing worked perfectly as planned.  I waited until after Luzbell had acted so she couldn't Mirror Jump Eva to safety.  Also, Elienai was currently possessing Konosuke so she couldn't Door to the Beyond Eva when she dropped.  That much I wasn't planning for, but took a great advantage of.  The fact that reality fold lets you remove people from combat is another sick bonus.  Nero was up in Dinah's face and then suddenly he was just staring at a floating wing.  Cheshire was locked up with Luzbell and Janiel was up against the possessed Konosuke and they were more than happy to go along for the ride and be toe to toe with Eva instead.  Aoi came along as well because it was better than being left out in the open for the rest of the opponent's army.

Also, Coral Ecstasy was extremely useful in that game.  I think Aoi might be overlooked a bit as a support character but she was completely worth her Lv last night.

Trust me, as a guy whose had to face down Aoi oh so many times, a strategically placed Coral ecstasy will ruin your day.

"WHAT! MORRIGAN HAS DECENT ARMOR, AND IS GOING TO PULL OFF HADES AGAIN NEXT TURN!?"

So yea..... Aoi is sick. Thankfully, I have Iosara.

I don't think people undermine Aoi Inukai, actually. Most people realize that Moon Seal and Coral Ecstasy, especially, are extremely powerful. I'd say Coral Ecstasy alone proves her 40 Points cost.

Coral Ecstasy on Morrigan, Konosuke, or Nahimana = Laughably Effective Results, especially with Morrigan.

Besides, she is the best traditional support Character that Samael has (discount Bael; she is debuff, and therefore not "traditional").

Bael needs to die. Repeatedly. Possibly with something hard and sand papery.

Those two on a well built Samael team can make any opposing team make their lunch go into their pants. Repeatedly.

In short, prowlers are awesome for this sneaky reason. Unless Janiel is there. Then you're screwed.

I think putting both the high saint and the saint council in one team might be leaving church with a bit to few damage dealers. Sure your character will probably not die anytime soon but you cant punish your opponent much when he does come for you. Luzbell (also mostly support), Nero and Alis just aren't enough.

Aoi, the only buffer and healer in samael making her very important as a support
Bael, a nightmare for most teams (or genosis drainer)
together they have so much fun  Grin
Add Covel (as Leader) and paralyze the poor guy standing on the 10/10 dark sun (or 2 dark sun's if you bring a Djinn).

Don't forget Janiel (though Aoi is arguably better at the healing thing).
