You know, you could make the NK-X the second highest DR LP unit in the game, only behind Morrigan but beating her with its superior Armor of 4.

Your forgetting Wissenschaft's gears. Grimorium Verum has 35 LP and armor 6. With Steiner Wenzel, Grim gains +1 armor so that makes it 35 LP + 7 armor + the ability to heal itself by 5 LP per turn for only 1 ap. Grimorium Verum is still the most durable character in the game except maybe Legacy (who also has 35 LP and 5 armor as well as high def + 1 per turn dodge).

I would say Griever is the most durable Character in the game. With Defensive Stance, he's extremely hard to kill. I've killed Legacies and Grimoriums much faster than I've killed Grievers. Having the Ability to Dodge an infinite number of times is superior to Damage Resistance, even if you have 2 less Armor and 15 less LP, because you can sidestep huge Attacks like Energy Wings, Summun, End of Eternity, etc.

Second I would say Legacy. Both Legacy and Grimorium have 35 LP, but Legacy has 9 Defense and 5 Armor, while Grimorium has 7 Defense and 6 Armor. 9 + 5 = 14, and 7 + 6 = 13, so Legacy's Defensive Stats will negate 1 more point of Damage than Grimorium's Stats. Also, Legacy actually has a Dodge, which means he can avoid a potentially lethal Attack, like End of the World or Godless World, while Grimorium  has to sit there and take it.

Third is where I would put Grimorium. Even with the Ability to regenerate 5 LP a turn, the Grimorium is left with only 1 AP, meaning it can not fend off for itself. 5 LP goes by quick when enemies badger the Grimorium constantly; I'd rather get 3 AP and kill enemies in my way: the best offense is the best defense.

So there is another neat little bonus that happens when this beast goes Unstoppable.  He can't be thrown, pushed or slammed anymore, since he is immune to damage.

Not true actually, AS specifically said that the Black Lion in the Undying State could still be Pushed/Slammed, and he is immune to damage, though apparently it does make him immune to being stunned by Crash.

Because slams and pushes don't do damage. they calculate out the same as you would damage, but they generate inches thrown instead. At attack that causes throw would, on the other hand, not move them at all. Those attacks generate damage, then move the character based on the damage taken.

If Griever is constantly using Defensive Stance then he won't have AP for attacking. So except at the start of a battle, he probably won't be using Defensive Stance too often. Its great to use it then charge into the enemy and then you no longer has the AP to special attack and use Defensive stance.

Well if Steiner Grimorium is using one AP a turn to regenerate 5 LP, it too, will have no AP for Attacking or Charging. 5 LP goes by quick if Grimorium can not retaliate.

I do agree that Griever should not use Defensive Stance too often after the start of a battle. My brother insists on using Defensive Stance every turn of the game; he has 70 Points tie down one Character for much of the game. I think he should be a little riskier with Griever, you know, use him more offensively. Scar of the World is a great Attack that has the same damage potential as an 8/8 Attack.

Once Griever is used more offensively, then no longer is he the most durable Character in the game. Do what my brother does, and have him use Defensive Stance every waking moment of your life, and he surpasses Grim by far in durability, imo. Tough choice.

I tend to use Grim with Sophia.....extra AP.  Wink

And I would be SO happy if Griever just used Defensive Stance every turn. I would never bother attacking him, I would just keep a cheap character there to tie up Griever.

Yeah, that's why I completely ignore Griever, like I don't see him. I focus on other enemies. He, though, usually goes out of his way to tie down an important Character like Nahimana or Konosuke, which is incredibly annoying.  Roll Eyes

Ya, I'd love for the Steiner Family to get some love. It'd be interestin' to see what the other half of Black Sun have up their sleeves.
