I don't want to post the pic of another game company here, but here is a link to a photo that will show you all 3 base sizes in comparison to one another.

yeah, that would do it, oddly enough those were the exact miniatures that came to mind, thanks for giving my example an image for the other forum readers/posters

Differet basesizes and more options would be nice, even to add troop possilbilities, but I boubt it will be effective because his game is more character focused than other games I know.

even though it is charactor focused for now, sometimes focuses shift in a game part way through sets. I'm not saying they will for sure, but I believe it is one of the possibilities. also eventually people will want to play with larger forces, and its easyer to do when you can use a few of the same figure instead of waiting for more unique ones.

I for one hope that the game stays character focused as that is the primary reason that I'm picking it up. I already play both WARMACHINE and Hordes and wanted something on a smaller scale.

The character focus is the Signature of Anima, but WARMACHINE has it's jacks as signature, only people tend to play INFANTRYMACHINE. Slight change of focus in the game.

I do think Anima will have "infantry" type things.  Somewhere in the rulebook it makes referance to only being able to take one of each unless its rules say otherwise.

I'll have to disagree with you Will, the signature focus of WARMACHINE are the Warcasters. Both Warjacks and Infantry are tools that the Warcasters have been able to use since Prime. Also, I don't think the way that players choose to build their armies amounts to a change in focus for a game. That is more up to the game company.

well thats all fine and dandy unless the players choose to use what the focus was on before, for example if the focus shifted in anima I would use all charactors anyways. so the focus shift is somewhat player dependant

What the players choose to focus on is completely independent of the focus of the game company. You can choose to focus on infantry and build a WARMACHINE army with no Warjacks, but that in no way means that Privateer Press has shifted the focus of the game that way. I can run a Dungeons and Dragons adventure with a party composed of nothing but Rogues but that does not mean that Wizards of the Coast has shifted the focus of the game to make it all about Rogues. That is the point that I was trying to make and I'm sorry if I made it hard to understand, it really has no bearing on this specific topic, I was just pointing out that Privateer Press has not shifted the focus of their game in the way that Will was suggesting. I didn't mean to hijack the thread so I apologize.

Further back on topic, I think that the rule mentioned earlier was specifically to make sure that people didn't have both sides feilding Derek Shezard, just as a for instance. That of the named figures, only one side or the other could field them.

I believe both sides can take the same character, but a side may not have more than one of any particular character.  In other words, Derek Shezard can end up fighting another Derek Shezard, but there may not be two of him in the same force.  If there could only be one of a character on the battlefield at a time, this would make figuring out who gets to take a particular fighter very difficult.
