It a hate for Daimah and Orientals.  But I too am looking forward to this guy.  Maybe a fast attacker with some fox magic skills.

It's a hate for Daimah only. (as the Aoi is mentally retarded and the whole Daimah concept is a fan service on the level of striped panties and bouncing boobs).

I find oriental just stylistically inappropriate as I don't like eclectics.
But for some strange reason there is no some oriental organisation and oriental characters are either wanderers or Samael.

But it's because WutaiVarja is a political and geographical periphery, without the means or the interest to participate in the old continent power plays. So the only way to involve oriental characters is to sprinkle them into other organizations or make them wanderers and I think it works pretty well for that eclectic European fantasy meets JRPGs feel of Anima.

No comments on the catgirls as I'm not a fan myself (especially after stumbling into a rather furry oriented GURPS fantasy campaign *shudder*) but I don't think one or two is that bad if they make some people happier. As long as I get more vampires in the end.

Also, there's Feng Yi.

She is an exception.

A bit of rundown:

Empire: 18 characters, one possibly is not human (Iosara).
Church: 17 characters, Elienai is not human.
Wanderers: 18 characters, no nonhumans, 9 oriental.
Wissenschaft: 16 cha.. models. Valis is nonhuman, and is more than enough. And Feng Yi is oriental.
Azur: 19 characters, one elf (Arkeid), two Tuan Dalyr (Frey and Freya), one D'Anjayni, one Vetala.

Samael: 15 characters. 2 Dukzarist, 2 Elf, 2 Daevah, 1 Jayan, 1 Ebudan, 2 furries, 5 unique. Of them 4 are oriental-based. New saga will bring us Angelus (elf) and another furry guy.

So, what do we have in summary. Elven race is 80% young girls and 20% ancient as time bearded men. Samael have only 3 elves (well, actually two. Dinah is not an elf), while Wiss have one (Valis, who is Awesome) and Azur have one (Arkeid, best Azur leader imo). Azur have all the Vetala, Tuan Dalyr and D'Anjayni in game.
Samael is 25% oriental — wtf theese guys are doing there? And also according to minis two majority races of Samael are elves and furries.

What the hell? Why do we get orient and furries? We have no Duk'Zarist girls and Sylvain guys. Azur beats us on models number of three races. And the nonhumans Zur and Wiss have are actually way cooler and more effective than all the furries and orient the Samael have.

Actually not only Wiss but the Empire too. Lilith's 4 AP is on verge of imbalance enough to be compensated with flaws somewhere else bus she is easily comparable to Ophiel and have buffer/support/attacker roles. Macbeth is good too.
But yes, Wiss's Valis is quite op.
Also Black Sun's Lynn defensive ability makes Griever green of envy that he is much more expensive and his defensive stance sucks compared to her.

Yes the symbol is Les Jaegers. Moreover the uniform resembels Kirsten's uniform and has the same style as the rest of Les Jaegers.
