After the events of the GM toolkit intro campaign, the players are free to leave the island of Corvinus and explore the world. My question is, where do they go next? The story is very open ended leaving a wide variety of places to go and things to do. My players have almost finished their time on this island and I'm starting to write the next chapter of their story, I just haven't decided where it will take place.

Find the Lady again, take possession of it and become airship pirates.

You know you want to.

I've always wanted to become a sky captain, raiding isolated mountain villages. Cheesy

In my game I kind of did a Lord of the Rings move. Although it was not the focus of the Island adventure, I turned the focus, very suddenly and violently, towards the Uroboros Dunkel (The book found on the crashed Tol Rauko ship). When they returned, they had one kind of random mission, but when they returned from that mission the leaders house had been trashed trying to find the book. It all spiraled from there.

I think I've posted this before, but I'll just type it up again and update for further playing that has happened.  My characters were contacted by Lucanor shortly after returning home, and invited to the University to be debriefed.  Long story short, he poisoned them and they are forced to work for him until they are strong enough to be Processed and become Crows.  Since then, they died (oops) but Selene (from the island, not the assassins) brought them back to life.  Joyous return, right?  Well, sort of.  They are cured of the poison, but pretending that they still need the weekly antidote, all while spying on Wiss and reporting to Selene in their dreams.  They recently had to travel deep into the heart of the desert where one of the actual deceased party members was from to save her soul from the demon that has possessed her family line for several generations.  They saved her by one of the characters absorbing her soul (hurray!) but now demon dad is going to kill them (boo!) but Selene appears again and helps them escape.  She used part of her power to lock part of demon dad's power so he can't find them.  Except in absorbing the soul of their friend, Angeline accidentally also absorbed just a little bit of a Shadow.  Other than black flecks in her eyes, she didn't think it did anything too bad.  However, unfortunately for them, Selene let them know that demon dad will eventually be able to find them via the Shadow, so there's only so much time before they have to deal with them.  They just returned to the university a few days before New Years.  So now, they are stuck between a powerful organization they work for but are possibly double agents against (it's unclear what Selene's motives are and whether she just wants info or to act against Wiss), a Nightmare Lord who they are extremely indebted to who can find them super easily, and a horrible demon spending all of his power to find them, who wants nothing more than to cause they to suffer for as long as possible.  At this point, the story is only partly in my hands as I am leaving them very open to proceed as they wish on any/all of those fronts.  I'm probably more excited than they are to find out where this is going to go.

Our characters boarded a cruise ship that had been redirected by a storm brewing in the Inner Sea.  It happened to be heading towards a small island, one dedicated to fun and enjoyment -- Paradis Paradis.

And I'm sure it's not too hard to figure out what happened once the characters were there  Wink  They had a few days of fun in the sun, but eventually they ended up in Wonderland.  Let's just say none of them will ever look at a theme park the same way again.
