Okay the action fluff piece is terrible but I'm tired and I really wanted to get this out before I go back to work.  Anyhoo I got two bad girls here ready to rock your world!

The party was grand & all who attend were gushing over Arch-Chancellor Joshua Fardelys latest triumph, his announced engagement to Princess Hitomi of Lennet.  A marriage set to forge strong ties between Gabriel and the powerful Eastern land.   Many of the reveler never thought this day would ever come as the tragic end of Joshua’s first fiancée was still fresh in many minds.  

Yet as the night wore on the excepted arrival of the beautiful princess never came.  The mood seemed to change as a hidden current of doubt & suspicions permeated the room.  All except Lady Alystaire who gaily fluttered around the room attending all the guests as the perfect host.  Until she stopped infront of the grand crystal bowl of wine.  Staring for a briefest of moments she suddenly stirred it around & around…

The pirate attack overwhelmed the imperial convey that about to arrive in Gabriel waters.  The soldiers fought bravely with prayers of their princess bolstering spirits & despite heavy losses the safe harbors of their destination were in sight.  The cowardly pirates abandoned their assault as several Gabriel warships fast approached.  A loud bonsai greeted the reinforcements as last of the pirates fled into the dark waters of the north.

It took a while before anyone knew that Princess Hitomi was missing.  Her heart rose glowing faintly within its glass case, a present & binding pact from her future husband.

All that even caught a glimpse of her were dead.  The fog of battle made it easy to slip aboard the imperial convoy, as only a mere cabin boy & three maids attendants stood in her way.  Lennets famed guardian warriors were a major disappointment to Alba as slipped past them all with little effort.  Soon Alba was sailing silently across the black sea, her target well subdued.  It would be so easy to dispose of the girl into the cold depths, but that wasn’t to be her fate.  No much darker future lay before this would be bride.  

Alba smiles as the south ward winds pick up.  Her trip might be as short & quick as the rest of her mission…

This spell may only be cast during the Upkeep Phase.  Choose one Enemy unit within Line of Sight of Lady Alystaire’s, any time the target declares a Free Action they must pass a Resistance Check, effect 15.  If they fail they can’t perform the action for the rest of the turn.  Limit: Once per turn.

O+ Cri De L'Ȃme (Magic, Reactive, Effect)
This spell may only be used when Lady Alystaire must make a Shock Test.  Before rolling she may target an Enemy unit within her Line of Sight.  The target must pass a Resistance Check, effect 15, if they fail they take the Shock Check instead of Alystaire & suffer the resulting damage.  When this spell is declared Alystaire may add AP to the casting cost to add +1 to the Shock Value for each AP spent.  This addition to the Shock Value remains even if Alystaire still has to make the Shock Check herself.

Notes: Got tired of waiting for the Exxet Arcana book so I just went head and filled this girl out.  She is from the Gaia book and is suppose to be a Summoner lv 11!  I really wanted to make an non leader mystic that was worth the high cost this girl commands.  Yet I wanted to keep with the behind the scenes mastermind villain so she has no direct offensive skills.  I also wanted a powerful summoner that didn’t make summoning a tacked on angle is seems to be in most other summoners.  In a way she is very much like Genma in that most of her innate abilities and skills encourage summoning, but she has so many other nasty tricks since she is costly.  Cucuault I should make a special note in that there are a lot of “free actions” that would be terrible they couldn’t do but it also effects actions caused by orders, advantage cards, innate abilities, special skills with continuous effects, any free action!  So I thought it was pretty powerful in of its self, so the cost is a little high maybe.   By the way all her special skills are French and hopefully correctly translated.  Oh and yes there is a theme running through all of her.  It shouldn’t be hard to see.  Oh and her team card keeps things going both in theme and dynamics, but its very expensive at 120 level all together before even taking summons.

Fluff:  Lady Alystaire Fardelys personal bodyguard & one of Selene’s most capable agents.  A woman who should be greatly feared, but for it not for expertise shadow works.  As like her mistress Alba works behind the scenes but with cloak & dagger, instead of manipulation & witchcraft.  If Lady Alystaire wishes it, few on the face of Gaia would be safe from Alba’s blades.

Notes: Alba is either the first or second Seline unit I’ve posted that is using a more slim line format.  Selene Martial Technique will always be innate ability Iike equipment for Wiss, and for the most part be the same except for some really high up units.  Originally I had her down to a 40 level unit since Lady Alystaire was so expensive that her team was getting pretty overboard for just two characters.  But I really wanted to add a few special skills that would make her idea at tying down a unit.  Oh and yeah the theme is running through her as well as Aylstaire but shifted to a slightly different spot.  AS should know what Bible Black is and I think this advantage card is a very good representation of it.  It also my way of making Resistance check of any character to be feared, if you’re willing to take the risk.

Thanks I was trying to go by the rulebook  but changed my mind at the last minute to avoid the amazon look they tend to portray.  Made a slight adjustment to her weight.

So I made some slight naming changes to Lady Alystaire thanks to some french speaking lurkers.  Thanks!

Anyhoo one word might be a little harder to connect Cucuald seeing how its old french.  Why I chose that word for the ability it does goes even further into my twisted activities as its been adapted and sorta renamed by the Japanese.  All I will say is the idea of the skill is to stand around and do nothing as something is taken away.  Since many free actions are defensive or reactionary in nature, this evolved from the theme running throughout both characters.  Or more like a sub-genre...

While team cards provide benefits out of scope of 5 Lv, this one is a pure overkill by any terms. double damage means that she becomes 6/6 attack character (50 Lv, yeah), who inflicts grievous wounds on anyone who dared not to dodge. Damage resistance creatures are crying in terror as her 10 on dice cuts more than 20 of their lp.

Alba, Lv 50, 6/3 3 ranged attacks with movement. So it is not counterable, and most likely will hit the target.
Adding the double damage it will be some insane attack.

Made some more adjustments in downing the bonus to just +2 Damage and Alba to Damage 2.  Kite has been reduced down to 8 inches so she is still likely in charge range of even the slowest units. 

Thanks for the input, keep them coming in.  Oh I might have one more before I'm off to work tonight.  Need to add some fluff and some advantage card.

I know it might bit a bit late but I thought I'd put in my 2 cents.

Your "base" stats (and cost) looks pretty reasonable but the Life Points should probably start at 10 instead of 11 as most Mystics and many Prowlers tend to be pretty squishy. As for your primary classes, I would probably change the Prowler's innate stat/ability bonus to a +1 Defense or maybe a movement upgrade since a Prowler already receives a +1 to Seek rolls.

As for your variety of upgrade options, beyond making certain options cheaper you should also consider limiting options to take into consideration class stereotypes/balancing. For example, in regards to Life Points only Warriors tend to have above 15 Life Points. So instead of:
+5 - Gain 3 Life points (take up to 3 times)
You might try something like:
+2 - Gain 1 Life Point (Limit: 5)
+5 - Gain 3 Life Points (Warrior only)
This would allow Warrior (or mixed Warrior) types to reach a very hardy 18 Life Points while keeping check the other classes. The same would hold true for Damage stats above 5 (Warriors only), Armor values over 3 (Warriors only), and Resistances over 10 (Mystics only). I can't think of anything Prowler specific but they tend to be discounted due to their fragile nature.

Ah, Alystaire Fardelys and Alba Zimmerman, quite the ambitious undertaking. Tongue  Still they're a pair I could quite reasonably (and hope to) see joining the Tactics line up at some point down the road. I had been tempted to take a crack at Alystaire myself but without knowing Covel's equivalent RPG levels I wasn't quite sure how she would rank in comparison. Anyway, on to the commentary:

Lady Alystaire
Stats seem about right, though I've always thought she would be a Leader since she's used to calling all the shots and I don't really see her as the type to take orders from anyone. Initiative and Maiden of Decadence are both good and make sense from a background standpoint. Maiden of Desire is potent but not unbalanced since it is a one-off ability. Maiden of Despair's Resistance debuffing is the type of ability I expect to eventually see pop up in Tactics; if Lady Alystaire was anything less than 60 Level I would say this should be an Upkeep ability, but since she isn't I think it's ok as an Innate ability. Cucuald is pretty strong ability (especially with an unlimited range) but situational so I think it costs about right.

Maiden of Deception seems a bit unnecessary. While I understand what the ability does I'm a little murky on why you included it? The free Berserk Lv 2 seems a bit too much on Maiden of Destruction given how much more effective a Summon already becomes when you can drop it straight into combat. Sombre Amour is a sweet little ability though 3 Life Points might be a bit much given the combo with Maiden of Despair and the fact that the enemy character will already be suffering from some other negative state/ability as result of failing the Resistance check. I like the offensive twist that Cri De L'Ȃme gives Lady Alystaire while also protecting her against Shock Checks but I'm not terribly keen on the option to amp up the Shock value. I wouldn't say it's unbalanced since it can backfire but I just can't envision how such a thing would be done from a fluff stand point since I imagine that just being able to transfer the death feedback of a Summon is quite the feat.

Alba Zimmerman
Stats look solid and I don't have any problem with her being a 50 Level character given she's described as "one of the most capable agents in this society of female assassins." That said I do worry that a 6 Attack value combined with Critical Mastery is a little too strong at 50 Levels (heck, it even seems to be an either or for 55 Level characters). As for her Innate Ranged Attack, personally I'd probably drop the range to 8 inches if it only represents her throwing knives (I'm comparing this to a Shinobi's Innate Ranged Attack or Momji's Maboroshi Shuriken). As for Selene Martial Technique, I think I've voiced in the past that I think negating Criticals is a little too good and also not truly representative of the martial art which is focused around counter attacks, so I'll leave it at that. Shadow Enforcer and Discipline Zero both look fine, as does Stealth though I don't understand what purpose it really serves her. Kite, with it's reduced range, seems pretty balanced to me.

As for the Advantage Cards:
House of F(Fardelys?)
Cri De L'Ȃme carries the same issue for me as it's base ability but otherwise is fine and I think Overfiend is pretty awesome. Instead of modifying Shadow Enforcer, I'd probably just say it replaced with something simplified like this:

Maiden of Deliverance seems weird addition to me as Alba isn't a Mystic (nor I expect has much understanding of Summoning) so I would suggest replacing it with something that plays on her bodyguard status like:
Loyal Bodyguard: Alba can Intercept a Charge or Ranged Attack made against Lady Alystaire or one of her Summons from up to 4 inches away.

Bible Black
While a pretty cool idea, it's also pretty broken. You'd be looking at Effect 21 Shocked for Lilith's Alraune or an Effect 18 check for Hel's Gates of Hell. You have it costing the same as Control Bound which is limited to Mystics only and only adds +1 Effect to magical special skills. As is it, I'd say should cost something like 15-20 Levels even with the Resistance reduction to the holder.



Well that's the input I have for the moment. As always I look forward to seeing more characters put up and maybe I'll even get back to posting some myself.  Smiley

I would think giving them a choice of either Advance Deployment or Infiltration would be a good prowler class bonus instead of the +1 Seek which is also so limited in use compared to the Warrior's and Mystic's class bonus.  Also might think of changing the prowler's ki-attack to a subterfuge attack with added effect of poison or slow seen in many prowlers.

Okay I tweaked Alystaire and Alba some more and hope this brings her more into balance.  

First I based her off of Genma a level 7 summoner who was suppose to be close to equal to Fallen Angel Jigoku no Kami in terms of summoning.  So I figure Summoner Level 11 must be pretty damn powerful, plus she trying to summon an Aeon herself!

Second I was thinking of making her a leader at first and spacemonkey I think your right in that she doesn't seem likely to take orders from anyone.  But then she doesn't let anyone know she is in charge even her super bright brother.  She works even more behind the scenes and makes others do her bidding while not knowing it.  They all seem to think she is just some rich innocent noble, even those who know she is Gifted Magus Order, Order of Yehudah, Black Sun, Samael, & even most of Selene just see her as socialite.  To the point she murdered members of both mage orders and her brother's fiance with no one suspecting a thing.  Heck she still on good terms with those mage orders!  I'm thinking only Alba knows the truth and she seems rather loyal to Alystaire.  That's why I included Maiden of Deception so you can bring her into any party Light, Dark, Organizational without limits since she just manipulates the perceptions of her.

I did make Maiden of Deception more generic and prevented any question about summon's level vs ATMAN by banning them completely.  

Took your advice on Maiden of Destruction but just wanted to spice up her summoning abilities as its her main offensive weapon.  She's not exactly the most durable unit or defensive for that matter.

"Dark Love" is down to 2 damage and "Soul Scream" shock bonus is down to just +1 as she is amplifying the shock.  Yeah I'm pushing the last one fluff wise which is why I was hoping to get the Arcane Exxet before, but I figure if Genma can transfer damage to summons and Covel can avoid it altogether then maybe there is way to transfer it instead like Ayl's copy ability.  It made up I know but it seems reasonable to me for a lvl 11 summoner.

Alba I sorta went with Nahimana and Maximo as start points.  Both 45 level units with Critcal Mastery Att 5 and at least 3 times more damage then Alba.  I traded her damage for one extra Att so I didn't see a problem with her being balanced, especially after taking Lizbeth advice and toning down her Shadow Enforcer ability to just +2 damage.  

Did drop her innate ranged attack down to 8 inches but I'm not totally good with that.  Originally I based the distance on Kristen another knife thrower with 16 inch range (unlimited with one of her specials  Angry  )  Did drop Stealth to bring her more in balance but it was there to get her close to her targets and as defense mechanism.

As for the team card I adjusted "Soul Scream" and clarified Overfiend so Genma's special isn't devalued and avoid any confusion.  Maiden of Deliverance was suppose to be Alystaire giving Alba something to summon a creature.  The thinking was Alystaire was like Q and Alba was Bond.  Bond doesn't know how all those gadgets are made and maybe doesn't even know how they actually work but he knows how to set them and trigger them.  So say Alystaire gave Alba some scrolls or puzzle box with instructions on how to use it and boom!  Alba delivers a monster safely away from her mistress.  Still thought seem to be the team card might be to over powered so I just changed it to her ranged attacks causing Stun, to show Alba's job of taking out or kidnapping people for Alystaire.

As for Bible Black yes it hell of powerful so I was looking for some feedback on it.  I raised the cost to +15 levels and made it a one per party item.  Also hopefully simplified the drawback so if your going to take it the risk could be high.  Oh and for those of you still wondering Wiki Bible Black and see why its is the way it is.  I damn sure know Anima Studio knows as they commented on my Imari Black character way back, that naughty boy!  Shocked

That's why I included Maiden of Deception so you can bring her into any party Light, Dark, Organizational without limits since she just manipulates the perceptions of her.

I did make Maiden of Deception more generic and prevented any question about summon's level vs ATMAN by banning them completely.
 Ok, I can totally see how this fits the character now and the simplification makes it more straight forward to use.

"Dark Love" is down to 2 damage and "Soul Scream" shock bonus is down to just +1 as she is amplifying the shock.  Yeah I'm pushing the last one fluff wise which is why I was hoping to get the Arcane Exxet before, but I figure if Genma can transfer damage to summons and Covel can avoid it altogether then maybe there is way to transfer it instead like Ayl's copy ability.  It made up I know but it seems reasonable to me for a lvl 11 summoner.
Changes look reasonable. I think it's fine to make up stuff as a lot of Tactics abilities seem to be abstractions/simplifications of RPG abilities instead of direct copies; Summoning just has me a bit hung up on mechanics since it has some fairly specific rules in both settings.

 
Did drop her innate ranged attack down to 8 inches but I'm not totally good with that.  Originally I based the distance on Kristen another knife thrower with 16 inch range (unlimited with one of her specials  Angry  )
Totally forgot about Kirsten, though I think it has been hinted somewhere that her abilities are actually Ki or Psychic in nature, so more than just superhuman "subterfuge" skills.  Wink

Still thought seem to be the team card might be to over powered so I just changed it to her ranged attacks causing Stun, to show Alba's job of taking out or kidnapping people for Alystaire.
I like the change.  Smiley

As for Bible Black yes it hell of powerful so I was looking for some feedback on it.  I raised the cost to +15 levels and made it a one per party item.  Also hopefully simplified the drawback so if your going to take it the risk could be high.
Nice, I think you definitely hit the right high risk/high reward balance now.

Okay back after a long break for some more units I've been working on.  Both for the black hat mages Order of Yehudah.  One is build from the GM Toolkit and the other from TTWAU.

But first a new Org Advantage:

Any member of your party gain +2 Attack / +2 Damage while they have Doom.  At the start of each of your Mystic’s Activation you may elect to place Doom Lv 1 on them. If any member of your party kills a an enemy unit they immediately change all their negative state tokens to Berserk.  If this character's Berserk level reaches four then the excess negative state tokens stay the same.

The old witch was right; the Steiner summer villa did contain the book.  So many fragmented memories flood back suddenly that his head started to hurt.  

“Well, well it seems we have an unexpected guest here, Deimon!” A strong female voice broke Vladimir’s daze.

“Yes mistress and from the looks of him I wouldn’t doubt he’s from Delacroix.  Shall I dispose of him?”  A large man stepped forward with the psychic crystals embedded in him starting to glow with power.

“Sorry for the intrusion but I’ll be going now, I’ve got what I came for.”  Vladimir raised his sword Andrael as all sources of light in the room turned pitch black.  Racing out of the back, he was suddenly confronted by a half a dozen soldiers.  

“Strange you should be out front with your mistress instead of back here slac…”  Noticing all them had weapons drawn, the head of some chamber maiden within one of their grasp.  “Really?  I should have known that old hag wouldn’t have urged me to hurry up on this mission if it was going to be a cake walk.  If your assassins your target is in the next room, so get out of my way!”

Silence was the killers only reply as the advance, their eyes cold and deathly empty.  There was going to be no sly way out of this confrontation, as the door behind him shattered into a million pieces.  

“Goodbye pan, hello fire!”  Vladimir sighed, raising his sword Andrael again.  With it fiery heat bore down catching all ablaze.

Fluff:  Few people are as buried in mystery as Vladimir, his exact age is unknown, though it is likely in his late thirty.  He woke up surrounded by blood in the middle of some ruins in Alberia, wearing strange clothes & clutching Andrael a rune inscribed sword.  Not knowing who he was or why he was there, he searched the surrounding area, but he did not find anything that would give him a clue as to his identity.  All he discovered was that he possessed strange powers.  His only hope to discover his identity is centered on finding the strange woman who appears in his memories.  A trail that has lead him into the service of Order of Yehudah

Notes: This guy was built up from the level 1 Warlock PC found in the GM Toolkit.  Basically a fire mage that doesn’t exactly agree with principles of Yehudah, he never the less works for them.  He should have some solid combat abilities and decent support since I’ve made Yehudah very offensive in general.  Also gave him a strong blinding ability as I haven’t seen that a lot in the game, with an effect 17 it likely going to stick so should be worth the 2AP cost.  I didn’t give him a magical ranged attack but Incinerating Rain is very good substitute as it will have at least range 10 no LOS required due to his sword.  Fragmented Memory is suppose to be him remembering is spells or how to make them more effective, I figure Initiative was a good trigger for this.  Charisma the same cost as Tactical Advantage but can be taken on different units to really boost Initiative.

Fluff: Born of demonic master those that called the Children of Baal wonder the both the Gaia & the Wake in search of fear & despair.  They’ve become the minions of inferno demon lords, powerful malevolent summoners, & especially the dark Order of Yehudah.  Willing they follow if it gives them a chance to kill, experiencing an intrinsic pleasure known to only the evilest fiends.

Notes: Thought I add some cannon folder for the Order of Yehudah, & figured Children of Baal would make a wonderful new minion class unit.  Its funny because I might actually have models perfect for these guys, in my Devil Bats from the Great Rail War mini game.  Based the stats off of Styx with some minuses here (Attack/Resistance) and pluses there (LP/Defense).  But it’s interesting to try to make a shock troop for fewer than 20 levels.  A few limiting innate abilities and unique special skills (Attack From Above is a little difficult to set up) I hope balance it out.  I also thought about making him sort of a single carrier transport somewhat like the Verrier but re-reading his description sorta nixed that idea.  Made use of Difficulty in Ultrasonic since its under used and I figure having a strong will shouldn’t be help you figure out where a sound attack is coming from but straight up skill.  This levels the playing field for warriors and mystics instead of relying on Resistance.  Hellish Night is for the weenie parties to give them one shot at causing all hell to break loose.  But it actually shouldn’t work for Ash Slaves as they have no levels or the Djinns’ ATMAN should be consider the base.  Same is true for the Elemental Crystals.

So I've had a few characters I've had on the back burner for a while and the post about blank templates in the Workshop forum got me going again.  I decided to even run them up in my blank template to see how long it would take so here it the first one a cheapie.

The horrific advancements Black Sun has achieved in Necroweaponary has been built on countless victims of their experimentation.  While most are fated rejects are merciless disposed of, some have shown strange spontaneous transmutations.  These poor souls find themselves the subjects of further field tests...
