this is the samael team that i have:
dinah, konosuke, aoi, bael, chesire, and bella and aqua using innate mystics as my organization advantage.


i have been going up against my friend who uses church.
The team:
Elenai, maria, astraega, grey, luzbell, and nero using divine meditation.

the way this battle usually goes is....

maria targets chesire.
elenai casts hand of god.
elenai, astraega, and grey stay close together.
nero moves around regularly.
luzbell mirror jumps maria into base to base contact with one of my fighters.
all church units stay within elenai's 12 inch control zone.
all church units benefit from multiple dice roles.
support units are protected by grey because his ability to have a 4 inch interception zone, his ability final protection allows him to (basically) dodge for free for the entire turn, and being healed or having negative status effects removed by astraega.
maria has massive offensive benefits from her abilities and luzbell usually jumps her into the fray to take out my damage resistance character which is konosuke because he cannot dodge.
depending on unit positions, konosuke will go down in a couple of hits from maria and activate his ability "explosion of condemned souls" which will damage maria but sometimes astraega will either negate some damage or just heal her later.
however, sometimes maria will get killed, but elenai will activate her ability "door to the beyond" which allows her to stop the death of an ally by rolling dice to sacrifice life points.
there is a possibility of destroying herself, but that is a rare occurrence because of her ability to roll multiple dice, also the ability to roll extra dice after the regular role if the result is not satisfactory.
going back to maria....
she will usually get multiple puppets, apart from konosuke, because of maria's ability to keep enemies in play as an ally after she kills them. There have been times when my whole team was pitted against me.

my strategy is using dinah to cast blessing and to have aoi heal while my units suffer damage.
i attempt to use bael to seal some of the opposition, but astraega or mikhael's tear usually negates that effect.
konosuke is only useful with power counters on him, but he has to get damaged in order to get them. He also has to retire them if he uses them for an attack. There is the possibility of getting back 5 life points, but that only happens if a unit dies within his control zone. While suffering damage from maria and nero however, he goes down pretty quick. I try to maneuver my team to surround the support units while defending myself from maria and nero.

By the end of the battle....
I am trying to use dinah's devastation attack.
Astraega either negates 10 damage, elenai dodges, or if elenai gets hit and dies....
Grey sacrifices himself for her to stay in play.

This is how the battles usually goes, so i am wondering if anyone has a strategy, using this samael team, that can withstand maria and nero's assault and can take out the support.

That does look like a very tough team to over come. I'm not a samael player so this is just an idea to try, but maybe adding Nahimana might make the battle play out different.  Undecided Good luck my friend, and may the die rolls be merciful on your soul....

Nero in the team looks like he is optimizing his list to counter your list.

In general try to shoot elienai with dinah. For example you may try to hide her in cover and position the wing in the way elienai is closer to the wing than Grey. This way Grey won't be able to shield her.
Or even better, you may target squishy Astraega.

My wife, played with similar equipment, but replaces Mary by Xavier ... The trick to winning is to concentrate the maximum power of destruction in any model other than Elienai, make Elienai have to raise several minis to risk it and end up dying a lot herself.
And the main reminder, Elienai can not resurrect Grey if he sacrifices himself to save another miniature.

Yes take an early shot at Astraega.  Not only is she squishy but if she even uses one AP to dodge she can't use The Star or The World.  Also are you Buffing Konosuke?  Sallust has a similar group and he uses Aoi to give Konosuke Armor 7 and you can also Berserk him to give him base Attack 5 and Damage 9!  He should win any slugfest with Maria pretty fast.  So lure Maria in with a unit that can dodge then have Konosuke get Berserk and charge her for Att 7 / Dam 9 followed by another Att 5 / Dam 9!  All that without even having a Power token or Advantage Card like Piercing Weapons or Supernatural Weapon.  

If your having trouble setting this up then use Dawn of Darkest on an early turn.  This cuts Elenai, Astraega, Luzbell range to 4 inches!  No Hand of God help, Healing and support shut down, and Mirror Jump becomes a Hop.

If your going to replace units I would start with Bella+Aqua.  I've tried to use them effective but it just never really worked out.  You can go with Nahimana as an effective beatstick or Kairos who can be almost as deadly Dark Cheshire with his mix of skills or Momiji that can get past Grey and one shot Astraega and there would be nothing she can do about it.  Remember Momiji has a ranged attack that can't be intercepted or dodged.  Her presence alone around the little girl should be enough to have him thinking twice about using her.
