I have an opening in the game I'm running on IRC on Tuesdays, 7 to 10 PM GMT. Currently the player characters are 2nd level and the action is taking place in Gabriel. PM me if you're interested - or you can find me and the other players on irc.magicstar.net, #rpgnet channel.

Not able to join on Tuesdays, but wondering if you have a log of the game?

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/anima-beyond-post-fantasy

It's sort of an artifact title by now because we decided we wouldn't focus on airships until later - initial idea was an airship pirates game but we settled for a more generic Final Fantasy vibe. You can find the writeups of current party and the adventure log (that might be one session out of date as one of the players is maintaining it).

(you can also find a couple of maps here - the latter one was drawn in character and proved somewhat inaccurate)

edit: got around to renaming the campaign and updated the link accordingly. It's probably not a lot more descriptive, but does sound more artsy at least ^_^

Hello, I'm interested in joining a game but I'm new to Anima and games like this altogether. I started my character but I'm unsure how to finish, I'm a quick learner so if someone is willing to help me I am more then willing to join in a game Smiley

I have been running a anima game snice the game came out in english 2-3 years? If their is some one running and you will have me I am a bit scared I have watched the forums and had a few fights with my players about rules and would hate for it to come up but cant see it not happening at some point. Anyway let me know

PBP is 'play by post', essentially in forum style.

For good examples of PBP games (of various sorts) on a website dedicated to such, visit www.rpol.net

This PbP just looks "eeewwww" to me so if thats how this game is running count me out. If it is not running that way or people still seek a GM I will gladly run a game over the internet or join one.

I'm always up for joining a game.  Wouldn't want to run one though... haven't learned all the rules THAT well...

May I ask what you mean by eeewwww? What do you not like about PbP?

To someone who's never used the site before, rpol.net does look a little lackluster.

The bells and whistles happen in-game, it's true.  And, numberwise...

There are 69,964 registered users.

3,103 users have logged in in the past 7 days.
4,175 users have logged in in the past 28 days.
5,252 users have logged in in the past two months.
121 users have joined in the past 7 days.

There are 2,518 active games with a total of 4,557,341 posts.
The average number of posts in an active game is 1,810.
795 of these games are looking for new players.
There are also 1,763 inactive games,
and a further 3,347 abandoned games.

There are 78,075 characters on record.

There are 10,872 portraits.

Me?  I love the place.  Been there since 2002.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a great site. But I've only started PBPing recently so I am not too familiar with it.

Let's see....

Full character sheet space, everyone gets an avatar for their character (not their username, their character, different one for every game), private messaging system in-game, R-mail outisde of games, scratchpad notes for players in-game (visible only to that player, not even the GM).

Multiple threads per game, potential to make as many as you desire.

Also private messaging system in post so you can write stuff that only certain players or the GM can see in the actual posts.

Capacity to place players in different groups, so different threads in-game are visible to them and not others, and vice versa (something like 10 possible groupings, players can be in more than one group).

Languages - one can actually make in-game languages tied to other groups, so that players whose characters understand the language can read it, while everyone else sees gibberish.

In-game dice roller that records the results.  Compatible with normal dice types, plus has many specialized dice rolling systems built into it.

Potential for GM's to make up multiple NPC's who post as themselves, not as a 'GM post'.

Obviously has the capacity to link to and display images in-post.

Urg.  I could go on.  But for PBP purposes, it's an enormously good site.  Sure, looks bland at the cover page, but that's because all the bells and whistles are in the actual games.  :)

It sure beats using a basic forum for that purpose, anyway.  :)

I didn't know that site had so many extra features. I might have to take a closer look at it someday.

For now the basic forum where we run our PbP game is fine, but I would use a lot of those features you listed if I had access to them.

I would heartily endorse Sharpandpointies' description of RPOL.

It's a great site for PbP RPing.
