So I was thinking about how to replicate Alex Armstrong from Fullmetal and was wondering what advice people could give. I was thinking that generally alchemy could be ki techniques and Armstrong is clearly a high strength boxer. What other details would you guys use?

Alchemy isn't a ki technique, as it can't shape matter or create anything new. Even the new techniques from Dominus and items from Promethium can't do that.

To actually alter matter, and leave it altered, I'd recommend Transmute from the Creation Path of Magic, or better yet Atomic Reconstruction, as you can use the latter all day long.

If you're set on Ki, try refluffing Mundus from Dominus, and make techniques for Area Attack, Distance Attack, Trapping, Physical Ki Weapons (statues?) and possibly Damage Resistance.

Alchemy in FMA isn't quite like the classical sense of Alchemy.  There is no one skill that can replicate Alchemy as presented in FMA, it would be a mix of Ki and Psychic Powers.

I was thinking that I wouldnt fully replicate alchemy from the show but specifically Armstrongs technique of punching rocks and transmuting them into flying spikes or variants there of. I'd link a YouTube video but im on my phone and that's more trouble than it's worth. I was thinking something along the lines of the Gunhell technique that required coins except requiring rocks for ranged attacks and perhaps contact with the ground

I imagine most of Armstrong's techniques would have the "Elemental Requirements" disadvantage.  Ensuring that if you want to have a technique where you punch a rock and turn it into flying spikes, that you actually have a rock with you to punch when you activate that technique.

I know this is three months old, but I am currently re-watching Brotherhood, and I was brainstorming how to have a Armstrong character in Anima for a while until I stumbled upon this thread. I think that would be fantastic!

...Although currently I'm still learning the Anima rules. Coincidentally enough, I'm currently on the Ki chapter, AND my Dominion Exxet book just came in, so I think I'll be busy for a while.

Anyone else have any suggestions? If I was to create a first character in Anima, this type would definitely be it. Anyone know which country the Armstrong family would be based out of in Gaia?

While Alchemy from FMA might be difficult to do in Anima currently, over on the FFG forums, Elric of Melnibone created a homebrew system to replicate FMA. You can look at it here and decide if you'd like to use it:

Edit: The link takes you to the most recent updated version of one of the trees, just scroll up for the entirety of the system he created.
