Yes I suppose that is true. I was just hoping to be a support character in my game, I don't want to cast magic and I would rather stay away from ki. However, I will do what it takes in the end.

Originally I was trying to find a "magic" weapon, I didn't want it to be over powerful, just normal with the ability to do damage to energy based beings (so that I wasn't useless in half the battles).  But as was stated, twice above, the only thing really like that in the game would be an artifact.

Also, if the end of the matter is, "you must be at least this supernatural to win," what does the Weaponsmaster do?
i like to call him the meat shield. but thats my opinion

Weaponmasters can damage energy by level 4-5ish without spending any dp or advantage points. They are the one most likely to be using any 'super powuhful artifact' weapons if you happen to come across them. And of course most of them usually end up with hundreds of HP making them the last one standing if something goes horribly wrong.

Edit: ninja'd by Ray on the meat shieldy part.

Weapon masters?

They eat damage like sponges (as noted), eventually develop minor ki abilities that allow them to hit energy, and while they aren't blowing up armies, they're also likely the last guy to hit the floor in the fight with the big boss, hacking and stabbing at him all the way down.

Or pulling stuff like 'whoop, disarmed you of your special artifact sword.  How about that?'  :)

Just a different focus on their fighting ability.

Also the problem is that every time someone pulls such a combo he gets killed by some kind of Lazarus or such.

A Weaponmaster with 1 point Martial Mastery can start the game with the ability to damage energy.

This is no different than force the Wizard to pay for the advantage The Gift.

A Weaponmaster with 1 point Martial Mastery can start the game with the ability to damage energy.

Or they could gain a 1CP Artifact Weapon that can damage energy (and be +5) to much the same effect. Or they could wait till level 4. The only difference between this and Wizards is Wizards have to have The Gift to cast spells ever, Ki Users just have to spend CP to be good at it at level 1.

Staying away from Ki is not advised for anyone. You do not have to spend CP or anything, but Ki is a 'natural' part of being a strong fighter in Anima. It is a good idea to mostly use abilities that do not actually use Ki. Things like Presence Extrusion, Aura Extrusion, Increased Speed, Elemental Attack, Energy Armour, Use of Necessary Energy, etc. They are cheap, cost nothing to use, and are really helpful.
