I think the Church list is more rounded. However I do have some criticisms
1) I wish I had Nero rather than Xavier as the Sameal list has only one light character, Ayl. At least there are two mystics (Ayl and Bael) for Justina to hunt down.
2) Damian wont shine as the Samael armour is very low.
I think the two lists would be better to play against each other if I tweaked the Sameal list to have either Dinah or Konosuke. From a Church perspective Konosuke would give Damian a target with high armour. From a Samael perspective Konosuke would make Shinigami Ayl a lot more effective with Mimic Damage. Dinah would add another light character, which would be nice for the Church player to get more from Xavier. On the other hand for Samael she is a good leader that would add valuble support.
What do people think? Are the two list already balanced, or should I change one or both?
What do people think about putting in Dinah or Konosuke? If so which models would they remove to add them?

Its good to see a new player takes initiative and shows the game to others.
I ran a lot of demos and I would suggest tonning the game down to 250 points as you still get leaders and the game will be slightly lessminiature heavy which when you play 300 it can get complicated for newer players. I would even say 4 figures is the best setup but you lose the leaders. Of course you can ditch the points and just showcase the game on custom list.
AS for the units. I would not recomend Dinah if you're teaching someone. Basicly because Dinah is the most frustraiting unit to battle agains for a new player. You can either play her well and show how superior range combat is to melee or reclessly and it will turn out that the "so called leader of Samale" is an easy threat. I would go with Ophiel or just no leader.
Your worries with Damien are baseless as Samael has Aoi and she will most likely use her coral ecstasy and this will make Damien extremly effective.
For demo games you have to strive for more cinematic aproach. Eleinai without support with a lot of warriors is very neat because she will die eventualy due to ressurections. As for your Samael list its a good match your 2 good and 2 mediocre + Lin pao are a good match against 2 good and 2 mediocre samael fighters. Ophiel would make splendid replacement for hmmm kairos/ayl but its your call.
Apart from cinematics you can focus on showing different combat features of anima tactics.

Aoi is for introducing all range support and Super Unit tactics
Ayl has some fancy but a little bit ineffective ability if you dont have a control bound on her.
Kairos might be a disapointment because he doesnt do anything memorable, the fox ninja would be better here as in both lists there are no stealth characters.
Dark Cheshire is the poster boy of Samael. All rounder but still powerful and Tsubasa is just awesome.
As for church I think it fits well for a demo as church warriors tend to miss a lot and the Saint can really help here. All of them also have a lot of nifty abilities. Only one hint. I would try to showcase Xavier, Eleinai and Azriel sacreficial powers to establish that in church we have a saying: No pain no gain. If you still think Damien might be out of his league here try swaping Justina for Luzbell. The mirror swap will work wonders as Aoi tends to buff warriors as soon as possible.
