Sorry if this is a stupid question. I just started GMing an Anima game, and none of us really have any experience playing the system. I have a wizard in my group who has no defense or attack. It is to my understanding that if an attack gets past his shield he would have to roll his dodge or block right? So my question is, does he get a -30 penalty like if he was using a secondary ability he never spent dp on, or would he just roll a plain old 1d100?

I believe the shield is the only defense they get.

And it's not a stupid question.  :)

But yeah, if it gets past his shield it flat-out hits him.

Also the problem is that every time someone pulls such a combo he gets killed by some kind of Lazarus or such.

OK cool that's good to know. Do I still subtract his projection role from the attack role to determine damage?

No, you apply the leftover damage. I find this rule wrong, but whatsoever.

This is true only when the supernatural shield breaks from an attack, otherwise it's what vash said, reduce attack with defensive projection if he has a shield. If defense is successful, reduce shied LP by weapon base damage.
