Okay, we I was rolling up a Technician with my friend last week and he decided that he wanted to take the Unlinked Techniques ability (I think that's what it's called).  I was like okay cool cool, but we were confused as to exactly what that did.  Does it allow you to be able to make level 3 techniques without level 1's or 2's?  Or does it allow you to have techniques that can be non-related by element or effect type?

Also one other question along that line is the elements listed at the bottom of the advantage or disadvantage, does that directly link into what can be chosen as similar techniques?  For example can I take a technique with a primary that is fire, earth, and dark with a primary that is water, air, and light in the same tree?

Thanks guys.

It allows your character to learn lv3 tech without two lv2 tech and to learn lv2 without two lv1. Pretty abusable.

The elements are solely for the elemental bind disadvantage.

The elements can also decrease the MK cost with the right Legacy of Blood advantage. They do not limit what can be combined.
