I was leafing through Dominus Exxet this morning and I noticed the Virgo compatibility with Cancer if you're using a stringed instrument. Namely, that you can both play it or use the strings as monofilament weapons (heh).

Now, normally I would imagine that ruining the instrument, at least for that session (because you'd have to slash the strings off at one end or whatever). But, this is ki stuff. Do you stop using Virgo after using Cancer in the same scene, or does your ki energy magically restring and tune the instrument (which would be a pretty sweet power in its own right)?

I've wondered the same thing.  It's really not clear how the mechanics of switching between the two works.

I suppose you could apply an Unsheathe penalty, but I'm not sure that really cuts it with re-stringing and tuning an instrument.

I treat it as you can use freely whichever you desire. Or even combine them, like one Virgo attack and one Cancer attack, both with -25 penalty of course.

I would like to go with that, I'm just trying to wrap my head around how it looks/sounds. Do you interpret it as the strings winding themselves back on the instrument, or that it doesn't matter if you could even play it normally as long as the ki is flowing through your (stringless) guitar?

I treat it as the strings are longer than required and loose on some end.

It's Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac).

I like this idea that the string is elongated through your own spiritual energies. I have to test it first but I think applying the unsheathing penalty is more than fair.

I have heard about Saint Seiya before, but is watching a whooping 114 episodes going to be worth it?
