So I was considering starting Wissenschaft after finding that Anima Tactics: Wissenchaft Box Set is coming in a month, and I wanted to know if that would be a good item to start out? I plan on getting XII along with it to be able to form the Team Assault Group. I do have the rulebook on me (though my physical copy is not with me).

To ask, how should I start out with a box set along with XII once I acquire them?

With XII and the starter set you have a very good stable of characters.  I would look into Valis, Hiro, and Cordelia in about that order as your next purchase.

Alright then. I've been really interested in Hiro, but I like him and Theurgia in either the Red Theurgia advantage and/or piloting him. Is he really not as great piloting/switching out as I've heard?

I think after I get Valis, Hiro and Cordelia in said order. Is there a way to transistion in getting the gears after fate comes out? If so, any suggestions in purchases?

Well once you have Theurgia, I'd recommend getting a couple of the Gears with ranged attacks. My Gear hangar contains two Goethia, a Grimorium, Theurgia, and the Legacy of Solomon. The Goethia and Grimorium offer light and heavy ranged support respectively.

I sometimes field two Goethias, but generally wouldn't field two Grimoriums - although Fate's +2 Attack boost might make Frederick and Steiner a more viable heavy pair. I've proxied Fate, and she does make an all-Gear army very scary indeed.

Good advice. I'm going to wait until Fate and a couple more gear models get released.

As said, getting the box set and XII, what models are good for forming a 200-300 point list to start off?

Anyone remember the recommended advantage cards for Celia, Cordelia and Alessa? I have an idea what to get for team assault group.

Also, tips and suggestions in regards to playing the group Hiro just mentioned?

So I was also eventually going to start another Wissenchaft team involving The Gear Project with:

Advantage: The Gear Project

Hecatondies Zero Sigma
Grimorium Verum(F)
Theurgia(Y)
Goethia(V)
Fate w/Presence

Power Source
Logistics
Tactics

This list is 300 points. I was wondering if Fate benefits from The Gear Project, since her card says that she benefits whatever gears benefit?

Clock of Chronos and Piercing Weapons are the most popular choices.

Anyone remember the recommended advantage cards for Celia, Cordelia and Alessa? I have an idea what to get for team assault group.

Celia (Nine Lives/Ceridwen): With Celia's defensive skills it usually takes a Critical Hit to knock her out.  With Nine Lives an enemy unit would have to roll crits twice to likely kill her.  Ceridwen might be good so Celia doesn't get attack spammed from Azur or other assassin units.

Cordelia (Nue & Piercing/Elemental Weapon):  Cordelia lives or dies by being hidden.  making it harder to find her a plus.  Cordy is one of the few units
I would think about picking Elemental Weapon over Piercing Weapon due to her already vicious armor piercing abilities.

Alessa (Covert Ops/Nullum Lusec/Clock of Cronos): Covert Ops will allow you to have five units with Advance Deployment.  Nullum Lusec is for when you get off Storm Waltz or for one really big shot.  Clock of Cronos so when its time you are likely to pull off that crippling Storm Waltz.

I was wondering if Fate benefits from The Gear Project, since her card says that she benefits whatever gears benefit?

Yes, she works the exact same way Clover works for Undead.  If there a benefit to being a Gear then Fate is a Gear to take advantage of that benefit.  If there is a penalty to being a Gear like not being able to attach advantage cards then Fate is a normal character to avoid that penalty.

Thanks for the clarification! I still like opinions on my Gear project team.

It looks fine.  Fate should get either Presence for Light Marker or Supernatural Devourer so when she does mark someone she can potentially get AP back for her Targeting Lasers.  Remember she is also benefits from Laser Marker since she is a mini-gear.

The letter Elemental weapon, only Warriors can lead, so Cordelia is impossible for equip.

If only if she can shoot that elemental weapon out of her gun.

Its not a good card for her. Clock is much better since you can use it to shoot hollow bullet and still move Cordelia or shoot hollow bullet in back to back turns.
