I know I'm working with translations but do you choose a subpath for each main path you choose?

For instance if I have 40 levels in earth and 30 in Fire, do I choose two subpaths? or do I choose one and just not get free the extra free access spells.

you can choose to have a subpath for each tree or not at all. subpaths replace the free access spells of that level indicated. so basically, if you took the lesser magics (fire, water, earth, air, essence, illusion) you normally you 2 free acces per 10 ranks. you would instead gain one subpath and 1 free access(depending on ML rank). greater magic (creation, destruction, light, darkness, necromancy) only get 1 free access, which would be given up for the subpath if you chose one for that tree.
