OK its me again, sorry about this

when making characters do you start with a weapon or do you have to by a module.  And when you gain KI abilities and techniques you subtract the MK points from your total or is it a figurative cost.

Every character chooses one weapon and is automatically proficent with it, with no need to buy a module.

The MK is a "currency" you spend to acquire Ki powers, dominion tecniques, artes magnae from dominus exxet etc.

where in the books does it say what bonuses you get for unarmed and armored characters

Don't worry about it.  That's how we learn this stuff.  Smiley

Yeah, you start off knowing how to use one specific weapon, e.g. bastard sword, or unarmed combat.  Then, if you want to get other weapons etc, you have to buy modules.

And when you gain KI abilities and techniques you subtract the MK points from your total or is it a figurative cost.
You spend MK on abilities and techniques, but just keep a track of how much you've earned in total for things like Ki Detection, Ki Concealment etc (as they're based on your total MK, rather than how much you have left).

It's in the Core Rules under the Weapons section (the main bonus being that Unarmed Combat receives +20 to initiative).

The not-wearing armour thing is more that you don't suffer from the penalties that armour gives you, rather than actually gaining a bonus.
