This is not an Anima RPG or related product, but fans of Anima (like myself) this may be of interest.

Tenra Bansho Zero is a Japanese Fantasy RPG that made a big splash in the Japanese RPG scene around 2000. It's a gonzo anime style setting and ruleset, with a light system as a base with a few add ons like PTA style fan mail and a karma point system. In particular, it is designed for fast and furious pacing with an entire campaign being played in just a few sessions.

This is the first Japanese RPG of any real size to be translated into English (except Maid). Andy started translating the RPG 7 years ago. He has worked hard to retain the cultural nuances of the text whilst opening it up to a Western audience. Andy's blog at http://www.tenra-rpg.com/blog contains all kinds of insights in translating the book as well as teasers of the RPG itself.

The result looks pretty fantastic and is now ready to print. Luke Crane (of Burning Wheel, Burning Empires and Mouse Guard fame) has done the layout and the art is by Junichi Inoue himself as well as other manga artists. The core rules are even taught in manga form.

Anyway, it went up of KS four days ago looking for $9K for printing and it has already hit $35K. The KS page is here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/diamondsutra/tenra-bansho-zero-an-art-and-culture-rich-rpg-from/ and there is a link to the Tenra Bansho Zero webpage and the blog I mentioned.

Oh yes, I'm kicking myself over spending that much money but I got the Aiki set level already.

In case anyone is interested, the author is also doing a Q&A session on #rpgnet, irc.magicstar.net server, on Thursday 22:00 GMT.

I backed it; it looks pretty cool.  I am excited to get the dice with kanji, because <3 non-standard dice!

Yeah I normally can't stand d6 based games but these will hopefully be cool enough ^_^

Kickstarter uses Amazon for its payments. I haven't investigated whether the two can be combined.

AndyK does accept Paypal for other things though, but I assume you have contacted him about whether he will do so for KS pledges.

Less that $900 to go to the $80K level and all the cool stretch goals!

I have a MasterCard debit card that I use for PayPal. I set up an Amazon account with it as well and will just make sure to put enough money in there for a couple of days when the kickstarter ends. I don't see why it shouldn't work, so if you use PayPal in a similar way you could try it.

Also holy crap it cleared 3 grand overnight. Is this the time when it goes exponential?

Its did over $3K yesterday and already $6K today. Its going to hit $90-100K now I am sure Smiley

The cool thing too in supporting TBZ is that besides getting an awesome RPG, you are also encouraging the upcoming Japanese translations of Golden Sky Stories and Ryuutama. Both look awesome and are due to hit in the next 12 months.

96k ... amazing to see how many people fight for the survival of pen and paper games in these days of online gaming and consoles!

I just asked Andy via PM if there is a way to pledge with paypal, hoping for the best, I'd hate to not be able to support his great work.

As I was putting the funds on my debit card I was this close to getting the play it now $480 option.

But two extra copies of the introduction comic will have to do for now. I hate having other commitments!

I also really really wanted the "Play it now" option, but that is just a little too much money to ask for me.
