Okay got few more teams up and thought I see what you all think.  I did a new tread since the other one as a lot of stuff in it.  I will of course still update anything I've done if I get suggestions and stuff.

Okay here the first team for Samael.

Shadows of Spiderwood.

Note: This was inspired by the fact Samael is a group of supernatural creatures the boogieman and other things that go bump in the night.  This team uses a lot of stealth and magic so I reflected that in their card.  The art was Warning Sign by Simon Dominic.  Oh and Spiderwood is from some Japaneses horror flick.

Group leader: Aze'ezel

Fluff: He has no physical form but gesalt of malovent spirits moving from one body to the next.  Aze'ezel has been forever here and forever he shall stay.  An evil that haunts the dark shadows and dreaded nightmares of common folk.

Note: Using the are work from Tranquil Storm by Silverbobcat.  I really liked the piece and thought it would make a good leader.  The name is a variation of the demon in the movie Fallen and he has some of the same powers.

Second in command: Shiego Darkeye

Fluff: Shiego's hatred for humanity is almost equal to the her pleasure in tormenting the vile creatures.  She has perfected the art of pain from illusions of darkness.  Using her unseen hands to reach out and crush her enemies.  Shiego wants the humans to decend into the madness they sent her to ol so many years before.

Note: A mystic prowler she like many on this team is very magical and it shows in the way she uses it to hide.  I got the image here The Demon Girl by transfuse.  Oh and yes I'm using the new addendium rules.

A tree nymph: Pitys

Fluff: A nature spirit Pitys has no paticular malice toward humans.  Its just they continue to encroach on her home.  She has been force to take action before she has no home at all.  Nothing can get by her in the woods and mendows of the deep forest.  Pitys has lead many hunters and loggers astray never to be heard from again.

Note: Pitys was an Oread nymph who was pursued by Pan. She was changed into a pine tree by the gods in order to escape him.  Yes she has armor or more like she she can be hard as pine wood.  By her very nature she can blend into to wood via magical means.  Here is the artwork;
SOYLENT GREEN by bitchinblack as you can see where I got my inspiration.

Last but not least: Xellos

Fluff: Carefree and mischievious, Xellos is a true child of the forest.  He moves with like the wind and fleeting as any deer.  But he can and will stand his ground when threaten.  Xellos fights with a quickness and staimia few can match.

Note: This one was really hard in that at first I wanted it to be twins that had the charge power and switching that Aze'ezel has.  But then I didn't really like that as it was too expensive overall or I had to unbalance it.  So then I moved one to a big werewolf but then power wasn't my theme for this group.  Finally I found this pic Satir by Sara Forlenza and I figured this should do.  And yes this one uses his physical prowness instead of magic to function.  It is sorta of insurance if they magical part get it butte kicked to hard.

Okay for all the advantage cards here goes:

Note: I'm just going to list the art work here. If anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions just post them here.  Nature's Domain by zazB, Dragon Essence by sayda, and The Source by Christophe Vacher

Soon I will have a new scenerio so stay tuned.

PS I should have the second team up in a few days as well.

Wow that's my taste :p Samael characters ye!

At first sight I'm saying that they are correct. I really like them. They are all support thou well except Aze'ezel that might be a bit nasty. he would take out tank out of the way and can cause him trouble. I guess I'll give a taught  about your cards

Shadow of Spiderwood

Ok ability mainly Xellos and Shiego will benefit the most of it. Aze'ezel get the big part of the cake. Warp spirit will totally blow your opponent tactics. get a character near enemy doing his thing then bam Aze switch place cause he's in trouble. I can see wonderful opportunity and some hard abuse with dark team. Well Dark will abuse with this

Aze'ezel

Ok stat. I would keep in max AP to 5 thou. I like his versatility. He could pull off many good trick. I would defenitivly use it Cheesy

Shiego

She seem perfect. I mean everything seems balanced not too strong but not too bad. Again another support character. His shadow vision is nice to finish off badly injured armor type. What I find Ironic is... Ok I know they all Samael... that they are hidden finder but it's actually dark faction that have hidden hahaha.

Pitys

Again she seems perfect In all due respect. Pan Labyrith's is powerful :d Lvl 2 slow and blind and effect 18. throw in a +1 lvl to effect equipment and you whoop it to 19 nearly impossible to resist. You should probably drop it to 16 and since it's a zone it's really nasty.

Xellos

Again shee perfect in all manner. I like his Silence wind ability. You can see it like in anime when a ninja strike foward and continue a couple of meter before stopping and keeping the pose :p.

Life Stone

Really original!! Turning a piece of scenery into a fountain of life I like it.

Oracle of Nature

a Fair effect, but must be used carefully cause it also means your opponent won't lose positive status.

Second Sight

I would give it a +5 lvl and make it immune to blind status or Else this card won't see many use.

Well overall you did a really good job mate!

Thanks for the kind words and advice.  I made some changes on Aze'ezel, Pitys and of course Second Sight.  I knew that one was needing change once I got Hel today and saw serum.  As for Aze'ezel I downed his Att but I want to play him a little with his six AP since Warp Spirit is very expensive.  Oh and another nasty trick you can do with him is switch with someone like Harod after he tries his murder attack, since he can't hide.  Because the poison tokens would also switch and give Harod a taste of his own medicine.  Or grab a warrior thats been blessed by Eva and buff Aze instead.  Or even steal Haste.  Yup he was the centerpiece of this group.

I'm glad you liked them and soon I will have Empire up!

Oh and a new scenerio is up featuring the Shadows of Spiderwood I hope you all enjoy.

Yup time to move on to the Empire.  I know they have a huge selection of characters, but they are the logical choice for the story I running through.  This group is smaller the the last two with only three memebers.  Plus for the first time I'm using an offical character in the group.  I thought about adding Yuri but I don't know his details and figured I could just add him later if it seems right.  Plus he suppose to be the SECRET leader of the Hand.  Wink

Note: Yup Duncan Reid is on the top of this list.  A bunch of average warriors that I hope combined will make them effective.  This is shown in the team plot of using each others special ablities.  This is to show they have trained and battled together as a group and know each others skills.  Since Duncan is the leader of this detachment he gets a little extra.

Well the leader is Duncan Reid an offical card so just for ref:

Okay quickly on the supporting cast first the young: Shu Makato

Fluff: An orphen from the eastern lands, Shu Makato always seemed out of place.  Until he joined the Empire forces.  Quick and strong, Shu quickly rose up the ranks of the army being held back only by his serious and headstrong personalitity.  Yet this promising warrior was assigned to The Hand of the Empress under the guidance of Duncan Reid.

Note: Okay some of the German fans my reconize the wording of the specials that Shu has.  They are real world sword techniques and thus were designed to mimic them in the game.  Yes one type of counter attack in real swordplay is to attack before your attacker's attack.  Got to be damn quick I suppose to pull it off.  Anyhoo I orginally was going to do a female type but this piece of art Warrior by heise changed my mind.

Lastly we have the sorta of second in command: Casca Aguilera

Fluff: Growing up in the back alleys and rough streets of the poor parts of the city, Casca had to fight for both survival and respect.  Not content to grow up being some bar wench or worst, she wanted to join the Empire forces.  No one took her seriously until she was seen by Yuri, who reconized the passion and dedication in this girl.

Note: Yes if anyone as seen much anime will instantly recogize this character.  Its almost a straight up tranlation of Casca of Berserk.  She is fast and her skills are not deadly but very useful in ganging up on a character.  I've instituted Throw in a different way but explained it so it still should fit the rules on it.  Oh and here specials like Shu's are real world fencing techinques but in French!  Well almost real world, in that Débattement D'Amour is a little whimsical take on her being a girl and the counter she is using.  If I got it right the French speakers should understand it.  Orginally it was going to be Le Débattement De l'Amoureux but that was way to long of a title.  Oh I got the pic from a wallpaper of the anime Casca of Berserk.

Now for the advantage cards.  Well they are a weapon and another plot card.  Taken from these two peices of art BlessedSword by Jason Engle and Throne Room by Craig Mullins.  Again I won't say much but they should work well with this or any Empire unit.

Hope you enjoy and as always any comments, questions, or suggestions would be most helpful.  Oh and coming soon, the third scenerio involving The Hand of the Empress!

Hi - I'm still new around here and don't have the experience to be able to comment on your cards in any great depth.

I did say in a different thread that I thought your cards were great - you have a really good imagine and the way you put the cards together is fantastic - and I stand by those comments. However, looking at some of your characters, I can't help but think that some might be too powerful, or just not necessarily that fun to play against.

Is Aze'ezal priced too low? He is level 55 and intangible, which would make him one of the most powerful characters in the game so far, so you would only be able to hurt him with magic and ki. On top of that he has a decent stat line and he can hit anyone whether they are hidden or not. Ouch! He has six APs and can regenerate four a turn! That means that sometimes he could take four actions in one turn and still be able to pull off his super-transport spell the next turn. I'm just not sure how he's supposed to die Smiley

Most of the other characters can hide even when in someone's control zone, and then if you use the team card, you can only reveal they are there with a 9+. That would get pretty annoying for a player who didn't have anyone with the ability to uncover hidden chracters in their team.

I also think your team card for Hand of the Empress may be a bit much - giving all the characters in the team the ability to use each other's powers seems far too flexible and kind of ruins the aspect of the game I like the most - that there are specific characters for specific jobs.

I may be talking out of my hat. I haven't had enough game experience to know if my points are really valid, but either way, I think you are doing a great job with the designs. Really interesting stuff. Well done.

I like the creativity of your designs, and the high quality of your graphics work.  But I'm not sure that I'd like to play against them.

In general, one of the things I try to do when designing a character for a game like this, is I try to only vary one of the "standard assumptions" of the game at a time.  For example, Anima Tactics so far has characters with 3/4 action recovery (standard), 2/4 (slow), and 3/5 (fast).  Each recovery type typically gets assigned to a specific type of character.  If you're going to deviate from that, I'd suggest making it the primary feature of your character.  I wouldn't deviate from that AND make a special ability that warps the normal rules in an unusual manner.  Just one at a time.

Thank you for your input.  You have about as much experance as me if not more so any words are helpful.  Since I got two imputs on Aze I decide to mod him even more by down him to 5 AP.  If he does his special he will be left vurnable with both no AP left and his lost of Phantom.  Plus if I read intanable right any characters that are higher level them him will also hurt so he has to watch out for both Dereck and Faust and am guessing a whole slew of characters to come.

Next is the special for the Hand.  While I understand your thoughts the card is limited to three characters that have only six specials amoung them.  Now some offical cards already have that many alone so I guess I wanted to make a real team dynamic and sharing their SA, but I decide to through in a little caveat I had orginally thought of but hearing the latest team cards left out.  Now you can see to use each others SA will require an extra AP.  This is to reflect they may understand how the SA works by they themselves are not the master of it.

Again thanks for the words and please keep them coming as it will be the best feedback I can get until I can setup a regular play session.

Hi again - I think the change you made to the Hand team card makes a big difference. It works better thematically as well - there is a set of skills they all learn, but they each choose a couple of moves to specialise in. Gives the group a nice feel without completely taking away their individuality.

Still not sure I would fancy playing against your Spider team - they would bug (haha) the hell out of me. But I very much like your Empire set. I lean very heavily towards the Empire team with the official models, so maybe I'm biased Smiley

Looking forward to seeing more...
