Who says shes ugly? Roll Eyes Not everyone thinks like you.  Wink
I think thats isn't the better miniature... but I like her (the only error is her face in fact)

I like because was a little different point for the empire.

Miguel's order are a half-religious order of knights that serve pure causes all around Gaia. They can be only male warriors.
In fact there are not from the empire

Well then, Khaine can't be a part of Miguel's order if its an all Male order.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the original artwork either, and the pic really doesn't seem like Wen-M's style.

I love his armor designs, but Khaine's armor looks rather plain in comparison, and her pose makes my eyes bleed. (Maybe not that bad)

I agree that the mini should be redone as well, but that probably won't happen, at least not for a long time.  Tongue

If they order only has male Knights, then how does Khaine fit in being female?

The problem is definitely the pose.  The miniature itself wouldn't be so bad without the wacky pose.

Basically, wen-m did some perspective art in a very comic book style.  You know, like old school pictures of a superhero bursting through the page of a book.  Then they went and sculpted that perspective piece in 3d, where it can be viewed (is typically viewed, in fact) from perspectives other than the intended one.  So you end up with a silly result.

Its a similar problem to the one encountered by people who paint true reflection non metallic metal.  It looks great in pictures where only one perspective is possible, but once you move it, it looks off kilter.

She isn't from the order, she is daughter from an important member of the order. When she grow, she can't enter in the order, and then she start to go all around Gaia to help any person who needs help

By being empirically non-Empire?  It can be hard to tell in very much armor.

Janzerker,  I know you're not being overly serious, but (skipping those with different aesthetics than yours) how is using a model with interesting tactical options simply because of those options powergaming? Roll Eyes

If Khaine's abilities were somehow unbalancing to the game, I could understand your comment, but villifying a model as a powergaming crutch simply because some people don't like the sculpt is rather unbalanced, don't you think? Huh

I wouldn't have commented, because I don't think you're very serious about your comment, but the tone it sets could turn off newer players out of fear that the game has balance issues and broken characters.

I haven't found any of the Anima characters broken.  Very powerful for some compared to others, but you pay more for that power, and the game stays functional and balanced within that structure.  Choose more power at high cost and a small force, or the flexibility of numbers.

From the aesthetic side, Khaine is far from my favorite figure, but far better than many I've seen for other games.  I use her sometimes, and encourage others to try her, simply because she does add to the fabric of the game while allowing the game to stay balanced.

edit to add:  Will there be a way to get a corrected card for Khaine, either pdf or printed?

Hello,

Did Wen-M do the artwork for Khaine? Her design really doesn't seem like it.  Undecided

I'm almost sure Khaine art is from Salvador Espín.

I thought I would just add to this thread because we're kicking around Khaine, and that's always fun... Smiley

My biggest issue with her is she has a halberd which she is waving around one-handed like a mad woman... Surely that isn't how they trained her to use that thing? Also, all that armour, that shield, and yet she almost seems to be offering up her face to the enemy for a good slap. Smiley

I only use characters that I really love the look of, because I paint more than I play (mainly because it takes me forever to actually finish a model) and I hate to paint figures I don't like. We are lucky in Anima to have a choice, in some other games you sometimes just have to bite the bullet and use rubbish figs to have an army flexible enough to win with (the dire wolves for the Warhammer undead army springs to mind).

I went ahead and got Khaine because of this. She might make a decent tank for Evangeline come Saga 2 when she is a wanderer and if not I can donate her to my wife's Light side army.

Personally I've always liked her sculpt and I look forward to painting her. I'll probably pick a different color scheme for painting her from the official art.

As I said in another thread: I really like Khaine.
But as usual, not everyone will like every figure (thing about the disscusion about Azraels' head)

Now back to the topic:

I think using as many characters as possible in as many different situations as possible and only filling remaining levels with advantage cards is the way to go Zeru. At least untill you have a good, strong grasp of the strengh and weaknesses of your characters and can then select your advantage cards accordingly (improving strenghs, counteracting weaknesses, nasty surprises, etc.)
All advantage cards give you a balanced bonus for their levels imho, my selection of these cards usually is due to personal taste and playstyle.
As a rule of thumb: when not having enough levles for another character fill the rest with clocks of cronos.

Now that we had a light wanderer untill the beginning Khaine would make a good addition to your empire team as would Faust Orbatos. Both of them are very much like your average empire warrior: high armor and a good amount of life points.
Sophia as your wanderer choice would give you a good supporter.

As a nasty surprise: Try Tempus Fugit on Kronen for that 14" charge-range. It tends to become unexpected. Wink

I personally wouldn't use Evangeline in anything under 200 lvls, usually 250lvls+.

And a note on planning ahead: In saga 2, you can select an advantage that gives all your warriors +1 armor when playing empire.
