1  Hell Dorado / Rules Discussion / 2 questions: Life drain timing; Uncontrollable on: March 13, 2012, 02:42:13 PM
Hey,

How Life Drain effect works in details?

let's have example:
Imperial Sentinel (full life) became engaged by Folques the Black (full life).
Folques attack and gots 4 hits (Life Drain 5), Sentinel got 4 hits as well (9 DMG).
Sentinel loses 5 life points,

and Folques?
9 DMG - 2 PR = 7 DMG

1. he loses 7 life point and in the same time recover 5 (from Life Drain) so got only 2 damage.
2. because he had full life before attack, so he recoverd nothing from Life Drain and gets 7DMG from current attack?

===

second question:
how Uncontrollable works?
I found in rules:
Quote
You must spend 1 CMD when activating this unit to perform an action other than Attack, Walk or Melee. This cost in CMD is not considered an order. If the player controlling this unit doesn’t want to spend any CMD, the unit can still be activated, to take no action.
but is unclear to me, the second part is confusing (in bold).
For what actions I had to pay CMD? (or if easier for what I don't have to).
(I don't have the book yet)
2  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / How to assemble Blade Master hybrid? on: February 24, 2012, 11:15:13 AM
Hi,

Could someone explain me how to assemble this model?
I try to few times and I have no idea where I should place those "tentacles", I guess somewhere on the back, but not sure how...
and all photos I found are from front not from behind.

Help please.
(photo or two would be more than welcome)
3  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / Re: Officer break down on: June 04, 2011, 07:42:55 AM
well as far nobody wrote anything about Immortal officers so I decide to put in my few cents... not much as I not very experience in play, but... maybe it helps someone to decide (or to write a better summary Tongue)

Cheng Xiao-Chen,
as most of Immortals can benefit from having more Light or Dark command points (Enlightened and Bloodthirsty abilities).
He is Mentalist (have aura) and Infernalist (have spells).

His aura combined with his Charisma ability make him in my eyes rather second line fighter, that should keep close to your other fighters and being used to finishing off heavily damaged opponents (his damage output isn't very high and only 4 CTB), so although he regenerates 2 LP every turn, has 1 Protection and 14 LP in total, I wouldn't sent him to fight some more dedicated fighters.

Breath of the Dragon (his aura) - makes all enemies with 8" from him to have -1 CTB and when someone charges him - receives Slow.

Cheng has also two spells.
Curse of the Dragon - gives Cursed 3/3 state to one unit.
Blessing of the Dragon - give all friendly unit with 4" from lemure have Natural Talent (a free re-roll of one dice) if don't have it.

He's only special order used in right moment can be quite devastating in results to your opponents (loosing all CMD points hurts), it cost permanently 2 CMD and works only for that turn, so you should activate it at the very beginning of the turn to use it to it's max potential.

4  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / Re: Cursed question on: March 17, 2011, 03:01:44 PM
Men at arms 5 re-roll the four other success (not the one that had been re-rolled with curse)
you sure about that?
in old rules is written, that Man-at-arms may make oponnent to re-roll already re-rolled rolls...

so in this example shouldn't Man-at-arms 5 would re-roll all 5 hits (also the one re-rolled with curse)?
5  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / Re: Typical game size? and other noob Q's on: February 24, 2011, 01:50:17 PM
one more question from me:
what exactly Whirlwind Attack is?

it's Sentinel (1635) [Immortals] ability and it looks for me like it refers to itself...

Quote
The sentinel gains the Whirlwind attack and Elusive abilities and a +2 CBT bonus until the end of the current action phase. If the sentinel dies when using this order he automatically kills one enemy trooper in contact with him.

i'm unable to find any explanation...
6  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / Re: Faction poll on: February 23, 2011, 11:15:20 AM
well...
I just start getting to know Hell Dorado, but Immortals catch my eye...
maybe because in general I like those "oriental" things...

if I decide  to play HD (with is quite likely) I will go with Immortals
7  Hell Dorado / General Discussion / Re: Typical game size? and other noob Q's on: February 20, 2011, 12:13:02 PM
so one more thing...
there is mentioned something about Light and Dark Command Points, but most of units doesn't specify what type of command points their have, how I know what type of CMD it is? (and can I change is somehow?)

As Barfal sayd only Immortal can use the Light/Dark command, so you'll find this indication only on Immortal cards.
On some Immortal units (mostly officer) there's no light/dark indication., player should then choose a the beginning of the game, the color of this command (he can mix if he want).
so... if I have team that have 9 CMD (no color is specified), at the beginning of the game I can choose how many of them are Light and how many are Dark (to sum = 9), right?
(I mean I decide to have ie. 3 Light CMD and 6 Dark)

ok, so Bloodthirsty explain Movement
but what with the others? Like Defense, Faith or Combat?
edit: ok, I found it, by checking ohter keywords in Quick start rules.

hi,
I allow myself to use this topic as well (as I also have some noob questions about HD)

when I was looking thoru the card I realize some of them have stats like: 4(3) -> so 4 is basic stat and the one inbrackets is used when unit gets some damage and its life points goes to that "blue" zone...

but then I found something like that: Move 5/8(4/7) or Defense 4(3/5) [mostly on Immortals models]
and now I'm little confused... when movement is 5 and when is 8?  (ie. Chan Lee card)
10  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Re: Demo teams showing organisations. on: July 17, 2010, 03:10:29 AM
may I ask why?
from my experience Konosuke is a beast so small games, won't he be a gamebreaker?
11  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Demo teams showing organisations. on: July 15, 2010, 12:49:05 PM
I'm sorry for not showing around for so long time. My MA degree took away every bit of my free time and make me almost a hermit. But well I passed it and try now "back to business" and my Free Agents duties.

Trying to embrace it again I realized my demo time are in pieces, so I need to make them again. (I still got my teams showing basics of the game, but since the book is available and organization bonuses are in common use the are not enough (good to explain basics, but they don't show any differences between organizations).
I'm hoping you will be able to help me create some 200lvl demo teams, that shows some unique ways of organization, like Church's inquisitors...

Idea is simple:
- 200lvl army,
- one organization bonus
- no advantage cards (except team cards)

for Church I'm going to use:
- Evangeline
- Nero/Xavier (can't decide with one use)
- Justina
- Aliss
bonus: Exterminators (probably) or Divine Meditation
purpose of the team: showing Church's inquisitors, great healing and support abilities and their's flying skills (advantage of flying units)

Wissenschaft:
- Lorenzo
- Celia
- Cordelia
- Feng Yi
bonus: The Process
idea: multi-hits and chain attacks, great defense and attack ability (but not so great in dealing damage), being a bit like GitS guys Tongue

Empire:
- Janus
- Vayl
- Danielle
- Kronen
+ team: Cerberus Division
bonus: Imperial Armor
idea: lot of LP, lot of Armor, hitting not very often, but if dealing lot of damage...

Azur Alliance:
(I have two ways here I would like to show: arbiter orders or Inflitration and hidden skills and by now I'm closer to the second option, so it will be:)
- Deadmoon
- Jerome
- Hel
- Harod
+ team: Lord of Abyss
bonus: Organisation
idea: showing army working in shadows, striking from place you wouldn't expect, assassination etc...

Samael:
- Chesire
- Bael
- ??
- ??
bonus: Supernatural Mastery
idea: ??
I've got a lot of problems here. I play Samael and I can't create any demo team. I know I want there Chesire and Bael, but I've got no what units use in the remaining 105lvl... maybe Genma and two small Alius (or one big and one Fire Demon or Eliham/Arihman), to show summoning... really have no idea...

I hope you can advise me something, criticize those idea and help improving them to make them more attractive to new players.
12  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Re: Collected Eratta and FAQ on: June 06, 2010, 02:11:48 AM
in my area Seal simply "turns-off" all abilities and skills written on card (except Damage Resistance)...
so no Initiative, no Flying, no innate Ranged Attack etc...

Quote
Shinigami Ayl's "Mimic Damage"
When used successfully, does the amount of damage applied to the enemy unit equal the damage delt to the friendly unit before armor is factored in? or after armor is factored in?
I think it was somewhere explained.
If enemy fails resistance check he gets exactly the same amount of damage as your unit.
For example if Konosuke gets hit for 15 damage (after Armor reduction) and opponent fails Mimic Damage, he gets 15 damage directly and it doesn't matter if he had any armor.

Quote
Ophiel's "Devouring Darkness"
What does the "Difficulty 3+" mean at the very end of this ability description? Is the difficulty for the Resistance Roll check 17? (14 +3)?
no... it means this skill is extremely difficult for that character and sometimes he fails it.
after paying cost, you roll k10 and need to have result 3 or higher to successfully use it.
if you roll 1 or 2 (for Difficulty: 3+) skill fails automatically.
13  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Re: Morrigan on: March 24, 2010, 01:45:03 PM
yeah... two models to choose Morrigan form would be awesome, but how much she will then cost?
for sure she will be one of the more expensive models (I would say price will be around 45-50$) and adding into box another version of the mini increase that cost even more...

----
sigh... look like only she and Legacy aren't out if it comes to saga I & II characters...
14  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Re: 4th adventage on: March 22, 2010, 12:07:53 PM
I know this...

I'm just wondering when it will be out...
15  Anima Tactics / General Discussion / 4th adventage on: March 22, 2010, 10:58:47 AM
Hi.
some time ago, after Rulebook come out, with "mistake" with Wissenschaft advantages, there was announced, that all factions get their 4th adventage (so Wiss has: Lost Loggia, Proces, Gear Project and Manipulation).

Is there any news about 4th adventage for the rest?
