Excellent. I may not be able to pick up a copy until after PAX, as I've already got a full schedule of painting and assembly for various other games until then, and won't have time to go through the book. Speaking of PAX, you guys going to be there?

Just wondering if Cipher was going to have any presence at PAX 2011. I'm itching to try to get a demo of Hell Dorado and maybe actually play Anima Tactics, but there isn't much interest in any of the LGS around here so far.

Really hope you guys make it out to PAX after GenCon. I'm hoping to play an Anima game, and would also love to have a demo of Hell Dorado. (Because that's what I need, more miniature games... )

Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Re: Finally got the rulebook!

It seems like there's something about Tactics that, at a basic level, really appeals to Warmachine/Hordes players. I don't know if it's the combat system, turn system, or something else, but it definitely has the that "thing" that will make it a success. One of the guys in the forums for a podcast I listen to was comparing playing Anima Tactics to "it's like playing a small game with 3 or 4 warlocks with 4 Fury." I think it's the Action Point system being fairly reminiscent of Focus/Fury. I've always liked AP systems for smaller scale, anyway. Now, if we could come up with some campaign rules for AT, I'd be a really happy camper...

The book is what got our group interested in Anima in the first place. We're Warmachine players, and I have to say that Anima offers a nice change in playstyle from Warmachine. And, of course, the minis look sooooooo gooooood.
Funny, we're primarily Warmachine players, too. I've actually heard good reviews for the most part from other Warmachine people that have played AT, and I'm really wanting to push this game. I might even see if I can get a game store up here to start re-carrying the stuff (they used to, but never reordered), and maybe try for the Free Agent thing.

Yeah, my "main" minis game is Warmachine, and I proudly will compare this book to Privateer's stuff. I've really been itching to push Anima Tactics more, and I think I'm going to have a lot more weight behind that now that I can show this book off.

Anima Tactics / General Discussion / Finally got the rulebook!

After my regular shop's distributor finally stopped jerking them around, I finally have my copy of the Anima Tactics rulebook! Haven't had a chance to go through it all the way, but a quick thumb through leaves me thinking it looks pretty darn nice. Definitely think I can get a couple of my regular gaming buddies willing to try this out now that I can throw the book down and let them oogle the artwork (two of them are really into Anime, so that should grab them quickly). Now, time to take a break in painting my other game's stuff and get the two starters painted.

Adam may be a bot, but we should give him the benefit of the doubt for a little while here. Or until he does something that is not so cool. Welcome Adam if you are a person.
Absolutely! I hope he's a real person, since that would mean another Seattle player... What part of Seattle? I'm in the Bothell area.
I'm in Crown Hill/Ballard. Are there any decent shops up there in Bothell that carry Anima or other minis?
