Hopefully I can make me finish my immortals these days - the naga has been sitting on my desk for ages by now. [/quote]
I started work on my naga this week. the arms have made me want to weep during assembly.

Thank you for all the compliments - very flattering. With Thomas David and JAG they have some real world class painters (and sculptors) .. in years to come I hope to come close. At my local store I took a few pictures today and I guess I'll have to take a few more since most didn't come out as I hoped. Still here are two I'd like to share with you: The Demon Force of a local player: And here is an overview of some of the models that are on display there most of the time along with the necropolis board (terrain might not be really visually pleasing, but it's very modular and hence works out quite well for playing - a friend of mine has an awesome diorama-esque board, but it's not that good for playing): I hope we'll get a second board done once Hell Dorado boxes and blisters are available again. Your setup is awesome. I love the minis. What materials did you use for the terrain pieces? thanks

Most terrain pieces were made on simple plastic card. It doesn't go too well with the slightly structured 30'' board - I hope to get this better for my own gaming board I've started working on. Anyhow - yesterday and today I started working on my 'Lost' force and I returned to a model I failed to paint some years ago - Gueule Des Abysses (among the coolest models JAG sculpted I think): Usually I paint NMM but since I started my Lost force with metallic colours I tried a heavily shaded metallic paint. Hopefully I'll find the time tomorrow to finish him. The colour choices are pretty similar to the awesome version of Mikael from Haekel et Jaeckel (great site with many cool info and tutorials, e.g. the one on the Gueule Des Abysses http://haekel.free.fr/spip.php?article118)

The color scheme is classic but very well done. However, I didn 't want to meet that monster on the battlefield! Sorry for my bad English but I' m French and I do what I can with Google translation.

As always exceptional stuff rom you! I dare to say, that people who paint good NMM paint the best TMM - because the understand better how the light 'works'.

This weekend I found at last some time to paint some miniatures - my westeners were likely the first tabletop army I ever painted and I wasn't happy about their look at all anymore lacking any kind of contrast. Even though I intend to paint new versions of these miniatures at some stage I retouched my old miniatures a bit: Vargas sword, scepter and feathers still need to be done and the front right Doppelsöldners face too. Around 12 more westeners are further waiting. Once all that is done I'll likey give all of them new bases too. Now I'm glad that I did it - spending an hour or two on each mini made a big difference. On my Lost army I didn't get much progress, but here is the slight update on the Gueule des Abysses: And last - here is a retarius I painted a long time ago - I'll redo a few things but overall I'm rather happy:

I think they are great. the miniatures that aren't up to your standards are better then most people best work. If the miniatures were painted to your perfection wouldn't you be cautious about playing with them?

Thank you for the compliment. Since everyone I play with cares a lot for his miniatures as well I'm not worried about playing with them. Even if they should be damaged a little bit, that can be usually fixed fairly quickly. Besides once I play a game with only primed / assembled miniatures I tend to play it more like a purely tactical game and focus mainly about winning and start bitching about rules etc If the atmosphere is nice and the whole thing is visually appealing I don't care that much about winning or loosing and rather enjoy it as a whole game experience - it has some kind of RPG flair to me in that case. Here are three more guys of my westeners force: The Blade for Hire and Missionary only needed some minor repairs - I primed my old Swashbuckler and virtually repainted him from scratch.

Here come the ladies On Anna Bogna Pavlova I only repainted the face and repaired a few areas where paint was chipped off, same with Sara Zingaresce though I intend to repaint her face as well. New is Sœur Éloïse.

Vey nice clean paintjobs and if you say that they didn't take much time - that is even better! Ma favourite parts (as always) are the metallics One question - for the Gueule des Abysses did you use pure white for the final highlights on metallics?
