I am hoping you guys will post a list showing what will be released at Gencon (book? boxes?) and what the prices will be so we can plan appropriately.
Please let us know, Gencon is only 2 weeks away!

It really concerns me that a game that is supposed to be a big deal and is supposed to be releasing in less than 2 weeks has so little information available and so few people talking about it.....

Agreed. Mr Raimond's been on the frontpage now for ages. That seems to be it?

Helldorado may have missed a golden opportunity in the last 1.5 years. Early 2009, Helldorado was starting to pick up some steam in English countries, not much, but enough with it's impressive minis. Confrontation was way dead, Alkemy was unsupported, and people were loosing favor with Warmachine. State Side Dark Age didn't pan out, and neither did Rezolution and such.
The market was relatively open in mid-2009 to new games and Helldorado could have made a solid push at that time with an English release of rules, a promotion program, etc.. I'm not saying they would have conquered the market, but I think they could have solidified a beach head here for a while.
Then they got dropped, and contractually couldn't make any real noise and in this time, Malifaux and WM MkII, were released and essentially gobbled up or maintained a lot of the fantasy skirmish market.
Plus, from my understanding of previous news, Helldorado isn't really going to have much of a presence or release at GenCon, but rather a little after GenCon. Which is probably another bad move as everyone will again be buzzing about Malifaux expansion and other games and exhausted their miniature money.

All of this and the complete lack of any kind of response from Cipher really leaves me feeling like something is not going the way they expected. I was really hoping Helldorado was going to be a big deal but I guess it is just going to remain a very small niche of a niche market. Without a big launch at Gencon, I don't see Helldorado getting the start it needs to become a big game to compete with the big ones (Malifaux, Warmachine, Warhammer). Pretty disappointing.....

Yeah, its disappointing, but I don't think they Cipher has many options unless they borrow money to promote the program and make the GenCon trip.
Cipher is a distributer/manager of games so it gets a little tricky to coordinate promotion.
Anima and Helldorado are European based small companies who cannot afford to travel and ship all the gear necessary to promote the game.
The thing to be most dissapointed about is that Asmodee dropped Helldorado in the first place. If they or the Helldorado guys were somehow able to maintain a supported game while they worked out the selling of the rights (i.e. Asmodee approached Cipher and asked if they were interested) then all this could have gone on in the background while the game ran along as normal, but that didn't happen nor was it likely. So a game is dropped, no one wants anything to do with a "dead" and no-official-English-translated game. Gamers move on, get wrapped up in other major fantasy games and then fall to the "investment hole" of sticking to that game because its supported. I do it with Malifaux to be honest, even though I rarely play the game. I also do it with Khador.
Small companies rely on the selfless giving of gamers to move their game. So its really up to us to make a lot of noise about it. I'm gonna, for whatever its worth.

I'm not disappointed. of course I'd like to have more info, or to see the figurines on the shelves asap, and to see a big show at gencon, but I guess that CS is working hard to have a good product. as stated in other topic there were delay on the delivery of the molds, and some contractual issues. now this is solved and CS is putting a lot of effort in it, maybe is more useful to support CS than just complain (imho) i guess that we've to wait until Gencon, then see what to do.

This has nothing to do with complaining. I would LOVE for this to be a huge release and for it to be very successful, but at this point it is not looking good...at least not at Gencon. Even if they are working hard, they could give regular updates and let everyone know how things are coming along...but the last real info besides the new model was from back in May! I have been involved in many minis games and this amount of.....silence both from the game company as well as just the lack of fan excitement and talk on official forums does not seem encouraging at all. I understand the delay in the molds and everything...but this is an existing game that just needed translated (and from my understanding this had already been done) with a few tweaks. It just seems very odd the company is not providing much information at all. I think this game is going to be doomed to stay small and niche like AE-WWII, Pulp City, Infinity and the likes.

Im UK based, so GenCon as an event is irrelevant to me. BUt itd be reassuring to see a little more; a cover? A new fig? Some artwork or fluff even.
re the earlier commenst on Malifaus, I play it, I liek it but Id say that Wyrd realy loused it up with inadequate playtesting; there are so many errata its getting borderline unplayable. I note they are realeasing V2 stat cards already and the first expansion isnt out yet! My point id Im happy for CP to take their time and be thorough with new HD, but just give us a bit more info?

I feel exactly the same about HD. Hopefully the new release will be less stuffed with rules and balance problems.

I guess CS are working pretty hard to have something to show for GenCon, but likely they don't want to promise anything they might not be able to get done in time (and things such as the delays etc. will have cost them some time for sure). If they have some nice things to show everyone will be quite happy no matter if they made an anouncement earlier or not - if they shouldn't be able to make it everyone will be moaning in particular if they made an anouncment promising that. And GenCon is likely a great event to present a game, but if they'd rush things and don't offer the quality everyone expects the damage would be much worse in the long run. In short: I wish CS has something to create the attention the game deserves and would love any news, but I understand why they are rather quiet currently.

They could do a lot to promote the game without promising anything. It's been translated for a while now and even if they end up not being able to release the book for GenCon, at least they could post page previews once in a while, or concepts of miniatures to come, or the stats of the upcoming Westerner release.
There have been 4 official updates on HD since Cipher acquired the rights in September 2009, with up to over 6 months between updates (!). Even with the uniqueness of the universe and the potential of the game, this is not exactly how you maintain a sparkle of interest in the community (as evidenced with the death of the French board and the anemic activity on this one).

Greetings all. Sorry about the dearth of information so far. To be perfectly frank, we received the molds for Hell Dorado this last Friday the 23rd. We have been holding off on giving out lots of information because we literally didn't know whether we would receive the molds in time to be able to do anything for Gen Con. We will be bringing new starters, as well as Augustus Raimond. I am working on getting more details together and will be making news postings everywhere that I can ASAP. We appreciate all of your interest, thank you.

Thanks Dave I'm little bit disappointed, not with cs but with asmodeé, seems (imho) that they don't want to support this project. The delay of the delivery of the molds is unblievable, a person walking from asmodeč hq to cs hq would be faster than this shipment...

Dave, thank you for the update, it is great to finally hear something. I am very sorry to hear you have had to suffer delays due to this late shipment...that long of a delay seems very devestating. I really hope things work and look forward to your announcement. I hope to spend some money at your booth this year on some shiny new Helldorado!!
