Cards for the first waves of releases are up in the downloads page in English, French, German and Spanish - and English cards are available in the webstore!   Grin Grin

Will the cards only be made available as the models (re)release or will there be 'faction decks' released at some point?

wow a buck a card. ok so i'll be needing about $50+ to furnish my armies for a deck of cards which costs a minute fraction to produce and THEN i have to pay ridiculous international shipping rates (which cost again barely half that to ship something as small as a card...or even a whole deck of cards)

and THEN

i still have to wait for the cards i want anyway so in maybe a year i'll have the cards for my existing range and as the shipping is huge how can anyone who wants to do this justify the cost buying the cards on a per release basis? they will have to wait and buy in bulk.

cipher if your listening this is bad bad bad.

just release a card deck already, this is impractical and above all a rip off. im not prepared to spend $50+ on cards which if you released as a deck would cost like $10.

if this stands im out.

I like the new card layout a lot. Should I make a forum thread to collect the various typos on the german cards?

@Bork,
I have all the miniatures of HD (Vojageuse 1634 & 1635 included) and I will have to gain a full stock of cards for them.
I'm living in Italy and so I would have to spend for internatioanl shipping...

What i'm doing now? I wait.
I wait until all the cards will be available and then i will buy them all together. Meanwile I'm printing the PDF version to get them to play now.

Happy to see that the stat cards are up. As Barfal just mentioned the typo and punctuation on the german cards could use some corrections and the sentence structure makes reading some rules quite difficult. I wouldn't send them to the printer like this.

On a sidenote, I'm surprised about the change on Vorenus(Lost) - his order being restricted to enemy officers makes him quite weak (worse than the 1634 version - I thought he was buffed with a purpose in the first 1635 revision).

So from his card, I'm assuming that for Aidan Saint James, we're using the same damage table for both his Arquebus and his Long Sword?

Ok, to answer the questions.

Yes, we will only release them as we release characters because that is when we do the layout of the cards.

We will release card packs eventually at a reduced price.  As we've said before, to print all of them at once is hundreds of thousands of cards which is crazy expensive.  Please also consider the reality of the non-French version cards.  There is a finite number of English (or Spanish and German) speaking players who bought the French versions and even fewer who will buy cards no matter the price.  To print decks we can sell at $10 requires an order of about 3000 decks.  I highly doubt we'd be able to sell more then 100.

Yes, please send your errata and we update them ASAP.  We noticed a few mistakes right after we posted them.

so everyone with existing forces (myself 3 full factions) will simply have to wait for 12 - 18 months or so to get a usable deck without resorting to scruffy printouts and then shell out a lot of money for the cards at the end of it if they still want them. id probably be looking at least $60 without factoring international shipping fees for what would amount to a deck of cards in size....sorry but this just strikes me as wrong. i could almost buy a new faction for what it'll cost me to buy the cards for my existing ones...

whilst i fully understand restrictions and volume of work i cant help but feel im getting short changed, i feel ive waited long enough to play the game in the manner its designed to be played. anyone who tells me to just use printed stuff need NOT reply as its NOT an option for me. i hated it when the game was under Asmodee and had to cart about a load of paperwork under the promise of english releases to come in the future....which never happened. i hate printouts, its scruffy and impractical during a game and not to mention unprofessional in terms of garnering new players, it looks bad.

whilst i know the time between then and now is NOT ciphers responsibility id have thought it would have been a priority to cater for those of us who remain in support of the game who were there in its previous incarnation. giving us the choice of waiting ages for a card pack that might not come (if you cant sell 100 now you will sell even less in the future surely as many would have spent out on the individual cards) OR buying them at 1$ a piece over months and months OR printouts/homebrew sheets.

i suspect the answer is like it or lump it and if i dont like it you know where the door is.

Well, I have to lend my voice to the opposition, Bork. I prefer printouts. I don't want to flip my cards. I want them one sided, scaled to my preferences and laminated for multiple marker usage without loss of quality. I don't know what kind of printer you were using, but the stuff that comes out of mine is anything but scruffy looking and I have a regular inkjet machine, nothing fancy.

thats your preferance but thats not how the game is designed to run or how its designed to be marketed. i dont want to do all that and neither do the majority of gamers i'd imagine. i dont have the time or resources to print out high quality and lamenate etc and nor should i have to. its not the point im making.

Hell Dorado is a miniature game that comes with unassembled, unpainted metal figures without any terrain. They are beautiful, but fragile and some of the hardest to assemble miniatures I have seen. And you don't have the time and resources to print out cards... you are right, I don't see your point, at all.
