That electric green makes it look too...electronic/cybernetic.  It's so different from what we've seen from the paintjobs on the Saracens so far, that it's making it seem like it's from a different product line.

The weapons are a little large, but it's a good sculpt overall.

Gorgeous mini, very dynamic and all... but I have to agree with the general consensus that it doesn't fit in the rest of the range. To me it is just far less detailed than the rest of the existing range. Comparing this dude to the two existing Jinn-looking models, it is just as dynamic, but doesn't come close to the level of details.

Could it be that the use of different alloys drove you guys to ask for fewer fine details in the sculpts?

I have to agree, its a nice mini but not up to HD standards. The rest of the range is much better, all with allot more detail. The paint scheme is just so not in keeping with the rest. Why it was painted that way who knows, but it's not doing the mini any justice at all. If HD is to continue to grow things have to be alot better.
Its not a bad sculpt just not a WOW one, and its just lacking the HD feel.

I thought you guys might appreciate some imagery to go along with the debate.  Here's a quick comparison of Husaym to some of the other Saracen models and large figures of the game.  I think he fits pretty well into the Saracens faction especially since the color pallet is exactly the same.  Since he is an ethereal magic entity I think Bertrand and Thomas hit him spot on.  By the way, those symbols are sculpted and do say something for those who read Arabic Smiley As far as over the top, that's also part of the appeal of Hell Dorado large figures in my personal opinion.

Well, the group photo shows the genie in a much better light - he doesn't look so terribly out of place anymore. You should have posted it in the first place, so there wouldn't be so much confusion Smiley Is there a chance to see a photo of the mini from a different angle ?

No he doesn't look out of place, the size and pose is sound, its the colour. a bit more detail would of been good.
Its just the black and green may be thats just me  Grin Any way he's alot better in that pic maybe it was the blue background.

That picture shows further how nice that model is, but in my opinion does nothing to prove your point. On the contrary, Husaym looks much less finely detailed than Chams, much smoother. And it's even more striking by contrast with the Great Damned of Wrath which is literally covered in fine details and textures.

I don't see how the color palette ties him with the rest of the faction either. Saracen models have very little dark colors on them, and he only shares that light green with the Alchemist's puffs of smoke. The color palette might be the same (I doubt it, but why not), but it's used in such a radically different way that it hardly matters. Especially on that shot, Husaym's extreme darkness clearly sticks out.

As far as over the top, this is indeed part of what make HD large models amazing. I for one have no problem with that Wink. And just to make sure once again that this is not taken the wrong way: I find this Husaym model gorgeous.

Not too keen about the choice of color and in particular that vivid cyan gradient on the official presentation image is something that looks wrong for me (the cyan is too dominating and shifts the color perception quite a bit).

The model itself is really cool and maybe Cipher will officially post the images of the green at some point - the model has quite a few fine details and I don't think if you go for a spirit kinda thing too many highly textured surfaces would look good. Seens to me as if currently everyone is looking for something 'wrong' even if there isn't.

I like this model.  I do agree that he doesn't "blend" with the current colors, but I think he fits the concept really well and stylishly to.

I think we are going to have a lot of comparison to "then" and "now" as well as other backlash for a long time.  If Cipher can weather that, then it'll make them all that much better.

The model isn't bad, on the contrary its very nice. I'm sure cipher will take on board comments that are made.
HD is different, and i'm sure its going to be ok with cipher.
Every body paints and likes things differently, The mini cool, colour not soz! only my opinion  Wink

Is it possible to have here the picture of Husaym without any paint on it, people could see more details on it.

Seems to me as if currently everyone is looking for something 'wrong' even if there isn't.
While I appreciate your zeal, it's a simple case of people having a different opinion than yours. I've only read healthy, constructive criticism in this thread, not some blind bashing for the sake of it.

I for one was very excited about Augustinus' sculpt while many were finding it too GW-ish looking. I think this one doesn't quite fit within the current line with a number of reasons I and others already developed.

yep theres nothing wrong with differant opinions and not everyone is going to like a mini. its a good mini, its not my cup of tea but as a sculptor myself i can see the skill involved. that group picture does make it look sooo much better though, seriously makes a differance for the better. still doesnt feel like it fits with the rest of the range...maybe because its so differant...it doesn't really matter. no one should feel bad for expressing that, no ones being outwardly negative and cipher shouldnt feel too bad if people were as it wasnt their design to worry about it.

at the end of the day its something new and the more of that the better

I saw that someone was asking if we could post some pics of just the sculpt. So here they are ...

I am not finding a shot of his back in my pics right now. Enjoy!
