Now that's allot better Smiley The black and green do it no justice at all. Its a very nice sculpt, all that is needed
now is a different paint job. Thanks for the pics.

I can understand people not liking the colour scheme... I personally do and I think it does fit in with the background, mini range and the saracens. I'm loving the runs on the figure as well, I'll have to ask my Muslim friends what it means when I grab it for my Saracens.

However I do think there is a bit of bad will out there over Helldorado going to an American company. As such there are people willing and wishing Cipher to fail on this one, mainly from Europeans (mostly French / some Spanish) because this was a 'European / French' game for them. They felt like they owned it, now they feel its been lost.

I too mourned the loss of the game, but was over joyed to hear someone had got the rights to it. I'd never heard of Cipher before they brought Helldorado, but I'm more than willing to give them my support as they have the original team working on it and appear to be backing them. Also since hearing about them I've brought Anima Tactyics and a few mini's and lovely they are too. Just please, please, please don't tone Helldorado down too much for yur sensitive American tastes Tongue

I don't like this miniature. I wouldn't have liked it if Asmodee released it either. I don't like the oversized weapons and the pose comes across as almost a bit static. Oh there's movement in the flow but the arms are very simmetric. Some of the Hell Dorado miniatures are very good and then there's some I simply don't like. This falls into the latter category.

The French have a habbit of doing this: Ilyad Games, Rackham, Asmodee.... All either refused to translate their French games into English, or just didn't put much effort into translating them effectively (Rackham) or even, in Ilyad's case, refused to sell their game outside of France!

Those three companies don't fare so well now. Ilyad's out of business and Asmodee seems to be too. Even Rackham's not looking too well. This segregationist attitude isn't helping them and yet I'm sensing a pattern here. Little French companies spring up, make really lovely games/minis, and then refuse to sell them to a large audience/market. Then they go out of business because they can't afford to maintain their creative standards. Hopefuly Cipher will be able to keep Hell Dorado going.

Agreed it does appear to be a strangely Gaelic thing. I should have also said that I can understand people not liking the mini as well. What I don't like is the 'SEE Cipher have ruined the game with anime stylings' its just not true. I hope it proves to be a roaring success for Cipher and that the game goes on to have a very profitable future for them and that it gets the credit it deserved the first time around.

I'm with you there. Some of the Asmodee miniatures also have proportions I find unpleasant (greater damned one of pride's rediculous sword for starters). I even ended up converting Gilles de Rais axe in a way that, whilst reducing it's incredibly large axehead, wasn't a quick chop job and still displayed some elegance.

That one goes with the theme at least, it's a poser sword and I like it. The general anime consensus that gargantuan swords are cool is just wrong, they're not cool they are ridiculous. Don't get me started on gunswords... sweet Jebus. Then again I like the lump of metal Guts wields in the Berserk Manga, because it is presented in a fashion I can tolerate.

Whuh-?  Huh

To the best of my knowledge, I'd like to say that no such thing ever existed but there was a combined pistol-knife & fork. It was highly unreliable and I doubt it was ever mass produced. It had a very 17th-18th century look about it.

Alternative sculpture that was only released for the participant of the last Asmodee tournament. Resin one.
I imagine that Cipher's gonna released it someday (and as I already got it, I hope they eventually released the alternate mini for the swashbuckler, we saw the concept one, but the mini was never produced).

Oooo... I hope they do release it. The Hassassin is the weakest of the Saracen sculpts I feel.

The only thing Chams and Jafar have in common is the turban. Ergo, if Husaym had a turban he would better suit the faction?

Agreed I'm not a huge fan of stupidly over sized swords either. I can live with them on certain models or indeed in certain product ranges where its stylistically right to do so. On the whole though the Hell Dorado range I felt was ok. As I've said I actually quite like the model, but each to their own!!!  Wink

No offense to anyone but I don't see the problem here at all. This guy IMO is the second best Djinn sculpt. Jafar (hate that guy) still takes the lead though. Both current Djinn's looks different. Chams is all floaty and windy and Jafar (hate that guy) is all rocks and flames. This sculpt seems like a natural progression of that elemental theme, the sculpt and paintjob bring to my mind some kind natural energy. Being smoother sets him apart from the other two, but he's still obviously a djinn.

As far as big weapons go, if they were smaller the model would look bizarre. Case in point, look at the Great Damned of Wrath there, no one complains about the size of his weapons even though they're almost as big as him (and he's HUGE)! The Damned of Pride also has a ridiculously big sword.

Not a staggering amount of details granted, but the muscles and general over quality and cleanliness of the sculpt is up there with the best of them. He would look ace with some freehanded sanscrit all over him but I don't think it's necessary.

Anyway, enough of this. You can't please everyone!

Can the nice people at Cipher give us a new Demon to ogle please? At least a teaser. What you got planned for us rightful denizens of Hell?
