Hello, I've just started putting together a few of the starter boxes for Hell Dorado and am also working on a Hell Dorado themed board. I'm going to keep track of my progress here.

First up, I wanted to create bases to match the feel of the game and wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for so I created and cast some of my own.

I then assembled a Saracen, Westerners and Demons box. Using some greenstuff I was able to blend the models into the bases to make the join seem more natural.

I should have some paint on these in a few days and will update my progress.

I've also begun work on a terrain board and will keep a log to post a step by step in this thread as well.

Great job.

I saw Your bases in TGN, if I remember well, and I think they are perfect for HD.
I've got some mini with skull bases:

but Yours are much better.

The only problem for me is the distance... I saw your shop, but shipping costs would raise the price too much (I'm from Italy)

Nice,

I like the bases you used they look great with your minis. For me I wanted something more volcanic looking with skulls sprinkled in.

Here's some of what I've gotten progress on so far.

And the board I've been working on, you can follow in more detail here.

You may also consider that colour scheme for the Westerners stolen  Grin I just picked up the starter and Augustinius last week and was having trouble deciding what colour ro make them  Wink

The step-by-step is available here. But the short answer is acrylic painters caulk, painted red.

Looks good. But the colour scheme is more "stream of blood" than "lava". To make lava realistic you have to invert the usual lighting technique. The deep parts need to be brighter than the higher parts, because the closer the lava is to the core of the mass the hotter it is and the brighter it shines. The outer parts cool off and dim down on the light.

Thanks for the tip, but as stated in the progress post it's a stream of blood over a lake of skulls.

Well, in that case the colour is spot on, good job.

The water effects are done. Now I just need to populate the board with more terrain. Waiting to build much more as I believe theres special pieces required in the full rules.
