Nice find!

As an aside, is anyone else finding that Cipher's photo background setup really isn't doing any favours to these minis. I really hope that they would change it. Case in point, at first glance I didn't like this one at all. Then I realized that it was just the damn background and looking at it more carefully, the mini is actually quite nice (though I'm not a fan of those kinds of maces).

He looks rather massive, btw - is that a 40mm or 50mm base?

I am going to say 50mm because I see a preorder for him at 19.99 MSRP and demon sentinel is 11.99 MSRP.

Thomas David just posted on the french board that it is indeed larger than an imperial sentinel. 38mm to the eyes. Apparently there would be a detail we can't see that accentuate the dynamic aspect even further.

I must say he looks more like a brawler equiped with two of those six foot massive Chinese maces than a sumo wrestler. Surely one of those maces would've been enough but no, they had to make him massive and give him two of them  Roll Eyes.

He's great.  Maybe after I've finished all my Saracens and all my Lost and caught up on all my other painting I'll consider starting Immortals too.  Unfortunately their current releases are the least fleshed out of all the factions.  They don't even have any ranged troopers yet. How about some Chu-ko-nu or maybe one of those 3-barrel pole cannons?

Did you mean Chok Ku No? The Chinese repeating crossbow? Hell Dorado is long overdue for some ranged weapons that are neither gunpowder or thrown/exploding maggots sling ammunition. Some bows, throwing spears spears or crossbows would give me all I need to start working on my Viking warband.

War disks, poisoned spears, spit, throwing daggers... HD doesn't have a whole lot of ranged weapons, but it sure has much more than just guns and maggots Wink

Some kind of traditional ranged weapon would be nice. A ranged weapon that it neither limmited ammunition (like the throwing discs) or with a relaod time (like the guns) and it not biological would be handy as a point of reference for making up house rules.

@Model: Pretty cool - I bet painting those muscles will be fun.

@Background: I like a white background for presentation purposes or if a colour is used - it should be a very light and desaturated one. The current one is too dominant.

@Ranged Weapons: The reason why ranged weapons tend to be heavily limited by reload times, ammunition etc. is likely due to the fact that ranged combat is completely one-sided, which makes it pretty powerful.

The slightly tan background that is in the painted pics that Mathieu posted works really well, IMO. It doesn't clash with the paint job and it keeps the white around the edges of the mini unnoticeable. Pure white works as well, though.

I really like this Da wenti mini!
Brutal style but with a good movement in the sculpt. And I prefer when Immortals have a this kind of light demonic aspect which has, in my opinion, more impact than tentacles everywhere.
Again a great sculpt from Thomas David!
