Good start. I have been going through all my old minis and taking out pieces for my HD board. I am just waiting for the book before I start to design and build it.

Oh, you don't want me to show the full picture.  Our gaming studio is in my garage, and I am not the neatest person.  Games, games, and more games. Plus garage stuff. lol

Good looking Varagon.

I just got into Hell Dorado too.  Going to be producing some terrain for the game soon I think.

Thanks!  We've been using these pieces for a while now, and not getting old- We just use them as proxies for different climates and terrain types instead.

The smaller 3x3 board just doesn't justify building a lot of terrain like 4x4' or 4x6' sized gaming tables require.

Loving this game!

Have you considered building piece terrain instead of one of your behemoths?  Don't get me wrong, I love a good fully realized table now and then (See here) but having good piece terrain is a great option when you don't want to commit to a full table.

Hell Dorado seems to beg for tall stone formations and the like.  Something to quickly create some deep canyons.

I've got a tip to do worms : rice (long grain, cheap). Results are really good.
Anyway your terrains look great.

What colors did you use for the table? It has a good "Necropolis" look without being one single drab color. I'm starting my own Necropolis board and want to avoid the monotone look a real necropolis would likely have. Did you use an airbrush for the "rusty" effects.

All my "terrain" paints are Apple Barrel craft paints from Wal-Mart.  Nothing special.

The whites/blacks/grays come from mixing white with black and adding in nothing else.

The rust comes from a brown color...I'd have to go out in the garage to look at names.

I have an airbrush, and used extremely thin brown on the board as "practice," as I've never painted a model with it, nor used it more than three times.

So, yes, the brown on the board itself was airbrushed, but I could have done the same with a brush, I believe.
