Hey Guys,

With my Eurynome fig on the way, I'm trying to think of how I will play him. I'm thinking of running him a particular way, and wanted some feedback on this.

200 pts.
Eurynome - 66
4 Demons of Flesh - 48
Damned One of Gluttony - 17
2 Great Damned Ones of Wrath - 52
Mourner - 17

The 4 demons of flesh are there as roadblocks to tie up units. Eurynome can support them by teleporting around and then resurrecting them once per figure when they die. The damned one of gluttony is also there to consume any annoying troopers, such as the soul carrier, and is basically in there to also sit on key areas and grab victory points, such as in conquest. Basically, while things are tied up, the 2 great damned ones of wrath can choose their targets and go to town. The mourner is in the because...well why wouldn't you take a mourner? All comments and criticisms are welcome Smiley

Great list. It  has a great HELLish nightmare quality to it. I've been wanting to do something quite similar. When you say your Eurynome is on the way did you order a French version of the mini or did I miss an announcement about the Cipher re-release. Eurynome was the figure that made me want to play the Demons in the first place.

It's one of the French models. The figure is what made me want to play demons too, so I couldn't wait any longer for the re-release! Smiley

Would be interest in a battle report / debrief / after action report as although mainly a demon player I have not used a single model in your list. I have never thought to run with that many flesh demons in a list - so can't give any feedback.

But I'm interested to know if you be playing the Aura of Spiritual Vice as written i.e. 'affecting the whole battlefield' or do you have a house rule restricting it to x fathoms? I ask as I'm interested to know if the community considers it to be over powerful, especially as the model only costs 17 points. I think she can encourage a player to just park her up on the base line and not use the Aura of Lament.

We play it as written; the Mourner is a strong unit but there are bigger things to worry about in a Demon company (literally!).
In my opinion, the combination of the Mourner, Infernal Ambassador and Great Damned of Wrath make the Demons super competitive.

Absolutely. That being said, each faction has their builds which are incredibly powerful, and this is the example of what demons can take to make them incredibly strong. Just remember also that the mourner's ability doesn't work on vae victus or vae soli, so although it is quite good, I do not see it as over the top.
Will definitely post up a debrief after I try out the list, although it probably won't be for a month or so as I'll be holidaying around the US soon Smiley

Eurynome was listed as their MAY release.  Based on that I will certainly be waiting to:

a) get the english card

and

b) support Cipher

rather than picking up a French version, I recommend anyone who wants to see Cipher release more miniatures do the same!

(Not to mention it also supports your FLGS, but I may be a little biased on that point  Grin )

Yep, I'm all for supporting Cipher and advise people to buy the new over the old, all of my models (bar Eurynome) are from Cipher. That being said, I'm impatient and loved the model too much to wait...besides, that is all off topic Tongue would you like to comment on the list?

anyway...

I used Eurynome for the first time on the weekend. As I am awaiting the demon of flesh models to be released, I took a list that was different from what I used above. It consisted of:

Eurynome
3 damned ones of wrath
1 damned one of sloth
1 great damned one of wrath
1 mourner
1 infernal ambassador

Basically what I learnt is that by having Eurynome, the mourner and the infernal ambassador in there, I was really wasting points. Eurynome fills the role that these two units occupy in the list due to all of his denial abilities, and the points can really be spent elsewhere. I really like how eurynome synergized with the damned ones of wrath. These units are never intended to last long, they are basically little hard hitting missiles, but with eurynome around them, they die, then get back up, do more damage and die again, so with Eurynome, they double their effectiveness.
One thing I learnt with Eurynome is that he is squishier than I thought. On paper, he looks solid, but it is very easy to get him into vulnerable positions when you are focusing on getting him to resurrect troops. Ricochet 2 is only a mild deterrant. The fact that he can use his abilities from anywhere on the board really means that he doesn't always have to be in the fray. I'm thinking next time I will try him with the demons of pride (to boost combat for my troops) and the succubus, then fill the rest of the points with various troops as he tends to synergize with them the best. Eurynome can fill the denial role on his own, then the rest of the force can focus on offense/defence. Thoughts?

Sorry, I honestly didnt mean it to criticise you for where you made your purchase, I was responding to Phineus who was asking if he missed an announcement.

Unfortunately, although I own all the models for Demons released to date I have yet to get a game in =*( so I feel grossly inadequate to critique your list!  The mourner is good, and the GD of Wrath seems amazing for the points (on paper).  Due to it not being released yet I barely even know what Eurynome does!
